It gets an extra star for being close to Cedar Point and affordable during the week.
This is a basic stay type of hotel, if you’re looking for more essentials/amenities, you wouldn’t like this hotel.
The rooms didn’t have a smell, no dust/dirty areas on tables or bathroom. Comes with mini fridge, microwave and a TV. They have a dresser but I didn’t need to use it. The bathroom is very small, almost can’t close the door when you’re trying to step inside, but it was clean. The air conditioner definitely worked, stayed cool all night.
The down points were: I found a stained towel (the rest were fine) and there was a small, stain on the top comforter that looks like it needs bleached. None of the other covers or pillows were stained/dirty. (Just looked like they washed the blanket and the stain didn’t come out.) I wish there were better pillows as well. The bathroom is very small, there wasn’t a closet to hang clothes, the door also didn’t have a double lock for extra protection.
Overall, I recommend this place to couples who are looking for a quick stay in town that want easy access to Cedar Point. This place is priced nicely during the week, but expensive on the weekends which is another downside. There was a pool, I didn’t have time to use it but it looked clean when I walked past it. This place has no bed bugs, I’ve stayed here multiple times and haven’t seen any so I’m not sure where those reviews are coming from. This hotel is a little outdated but it’s clean and affordable. The owners/workers are very nice and accommodating as well which helps with the experience. Try this place out if you’re curious, it’s family owned and very close...
Read moreI have stayed here four times and each time has exceeded my expectations. Their prices are impossible to beat, the rooms are clean, and the family that owns it is great! It is owned and ran by a couple and their son and they are dedicated to creating a fun, safe, and enjoyable environment. Instead of knocking in the morning for room service, they are always walking around throughout the day and when everyone is getting back from the park because they don’t want to wake you up if you want to sleep in. It’s that kind of attention to detail and care that keeps me coming back. Also, I have never had a bad experience with other guests, which I typically do at any other motel I’ve stayed at. Not sure how they do it, but it is amazing! A low price for a high quality stay, what more could you ask for? The rooms aren’t huge and there isn’t free breakfast, but if you don’t care about the “luxuries”, this place is perfect. They do have a pool though, which is pretty cool for the price. Plus, it’s a ten minute drive to Cedar Point, which is great!! All in all, Sandusky Inn is a 10/10 and I’ll be staying here each and every time I visit...
Read moreI am giving this hotel a bad reviiew because they do not stick to their word. I gave them a neutral score for a cleanliness and amenities because I am not sure how they rank. I gave them a bad score for staff because of the ssues I am having.
I had made a reservation on July 15th for one night and on the way out of town we had a family emergency and could not make the trip. I called them 1st thing that morning, not 20 minutes after booking and spoke to a woman named Cher. I explained the situation and she stated that she would refund the money after she talked to Travelocity since that is who I made the reservation through. I called Travelocity who did confirm that Sandusky Inn was going to issue a refund. Today, almost a month later, I have been informed by Travelocity that Sandusky Inn has decided to not issue a refund.
I do understand they have policies but when you tell a customer that you are going to issue a refund you need to stick to your word and issue the refund. If she did not want to do so she should have told me on July 15th when I called and spoke with her. I will NEVER stay at...
