Got the General Tso's chicken for myself, my partner got the chicken mei fun. Oh my god. Just absolutely fantastic. My one major complaint used to be the thinness of the sauce, but I asked for them to thicken it out this time and it is just so incredibly perfect. Just right. A nice level of spice for General Tso, nothing crazy, but it has such depth of flavor. Not too sweet, wonderfully savory. The breading on the chicken is fantastic and even after a 20 minute drive home, it was still so crispy, with such a tender inside.
The mei fun's chicken was also crazy tender, brought to a perfect temp while cooking that shows genuine skill in the kitchen. The noodles had that desirable soft, almost stretchy bite to them, and a smooth, savory gentle flavor.
The only thing that could see improvement here was the fried rice, yet that was still better than any other place's in the tri-county area. If they ever wanted tips on simple (and cheap) ways to elevate their fried rice, I'd happily oblige, though they still sit on a bar above every other place's around here as is. My specialty is a very specific kind of fried rice.
Whoever cooked our food has more talent than the majority of the area, I don't think you're getting any competition til Cleveland or Toledo
And of course, the host/wait staff are so helpful, nice and sweet as always.
Sorry for the long review, had a lot to say.
Tl/dr; best Asian food for 3 counties excluding...
Read moreWe found Ming's Garden recently after looking online. The reviews seemed consistently good over time, so we went with friends. So glad we did! We returned and will continue to do so. Each time, we have had wonderful food, seasoned well and not greasy, and the same friendly attentive, but not intrusive, service. One huge difference is the freshness -- no frozen vegetables or precut stuff here! The Mongolian Chicken and Mongolian Beef are both great, and the touch of crunchy rice noodles is a nice twist. The Kung Bao (Kung Pao) chicken is very fresh and tasty. If sharing amongst people who like varying degrees of spce, the kitchen will happily make it milder and offer hot oil sauce for individual spicing. The Sizzling Chicken was delicious and impressive. Fresh, fresh vegetables, tender chicken, and a very tasty sauce. Apparently, Ming's has been around for ages turning out yumminess. I only wish we'd found...
Read moreWent for the first time, and then again a week later. Our servers were very helpful and friendly. The food was quick, and so good! Try their beef lo mein, the flavor is perfect and the veggies they used were super fresh. Crab rangoon is very yummy, egg rolls are well sized and delicious. If you want almond chicken thats fried, make sure you ask for the boneless almond chicken or clarify with the server, because there are actually two versions of it and my server was quick to make sure we got the right one by clarifying the difference. I was very grateful for the help. Between the two trips we tried both almond chickens, general tso's, beef lo mein, veggie lo mein, egg drop soup, egg rolls, crab rangoon, and moo goo gai pan. Everything we have tried was well made, fresh, well flavored, and the prices were great. It is a cozy location, and a new favorite...
