The Chicken King — Restaurant in Perris

I remember going here when the mother and her young daughter ran it. It was great - the food was always delicious. The service was always on point - you would walk in and they would greet you with your name. The plates were always overflow and came with a egg roll and wonton. So the other night a was feeling like have some of there fried shrimp with there sweet and sour sauce- was my favorite. My wife loves panda, so I said you go to panda and I will get chicken king. When I got back home with my meal , I ordered the fried shrimp and the almond chicken dinner. My wife was already waiting with her meal from panda. I open my plate to see the sad looking plate half full with some very dry out rice with no egg roll or wonton. Then I opened the shrimp order- I guess they changed the recipe it looked like frozen box shrimp. I looked at my wife's plate and it looked great compared to mine and I hate panda. First of all The Chicken King is the best Chinese food in Perris. Panda Express and Mr. You Chinese don't even come close. They make it fresh to order. The portions are great as well as the prices. It's a family owned business. I also want to point out 2 fantastic women in that always greet me are Claudia and Mary they are sweethearts. So friendly and helpful. They always have a smile on there faces. They know how to talk and treat the customers. They are true example of what customer service is and should be! Treat them right when you go in. The owner is a true gentleman. The cooks are fantastic as well. Besides great chinese food there pizza and chicken are excellent as well. I have never come across an establishment where all 3 categories; Chinese, Pizza and Fried Chicken are equally fantastic. Usually it's one or the other but not here at The Chicken King. I don't know where I went wrong. I came here because of the reviews and the rating, they didn't have bbq pork, so I went with the orange chicken. You have to do either rice or noodles, can't do half and half, which is fine, I'll live, so I ordered the chow mein noodles. The orange chicken was soggy, and watery, the sauce could've been poured into a cup and drank like water, tasteless almost. The noodles were bland. I added the hot sauce to everything and it brought some flavor to it, but honestly, I couldn't finish the food, I just ate some chips and had jack in the box later that night.
