Stopped here on a whim for some food after reading the great reviews. This seems like a really well-run place and the staff were really helpful and attentive, particularly for a counter restaurant. Portions were generous. The fries were good and the serving is huge and the pitas are nice and fluffy. They sell a small amount of greek pantry staples and also you can buy deli containers of tzatziki and hummus to go.
My main reason for not rating 5 stars is that the food was a little greasier than I'd like. I wasn't expecting the pitas to feel a little bit fried. The falafel in my wrap was surprisingly moist and seasoned well, but with the huge amount of toppings it ended up being too much a pile of mush. I think if the falafel had been drier the toppings would have worked better. My husband really enjoyed his gyro, so it's possible they go better with a meat option. I would have loved more falafel and less toppings and maybe an option to have hummus instead of tzatziki. The tzatziki here is very good, just too heavy I thought in the sandwich.
Anyway, overall I definitely recommend and I imagine...
Read moreSpinach pie is good; but we were surprised by the saganaki- which is always fried in olive oil and lemon. When it came it was just basically a big mozzarella stick w breading. That ain’t saganaki. Been eating Greek food for 35 years. The boy working wasn’t nice to us when we wanted to return it; his entire demeanor changed. He told us the owner was on his way and he had to refund us for that. So we sat, and sat. My husband finally went up again and said ‘I’ve never heard of this, can’t you just give us cash if you can’t credit back to the card’. He said no. Then he said he will credit back your card later you don’t have to wait. Not the least bit friendly or helpful. We left; wondering if we will get the $9 credit. Never heard of this practice. Low star rating here. We work at 5 star places and treat clients MUCH better than this. My husband works at a restaurant and couldn’t believe this. Treat customers better! Consider it a gift if people are spending their hard earned money there. I’ve seen some other not so great reviews here besides ours. Again- it’s about how you...
Read moreFirst time to this place of deliciousness!! We each got a platter — one chicken gyro, and one chicken souvlaki. Each platter came with pita and choice of two sides. Chicken gyro was a revelation; dark meat, carefully trimmed, so there were none of the little unchewable pieces that completely throw me off of dark meat chicken. So juicy and tender, and big portions of everything! Chicken souvlaki is all chunks of breast meat. Also tender and well seasoned. The rice side dish was great, as were the Greek potato wedges and grilled veggies. Lovely fresh Greek salad with all the expected items — olives, slabs of feta, cucumber, beautiful romaine and a delicious dressing. We couldn’t resist trying some dessert. Baclava is excellent, and I tried something new to me — Ekmek kadayıfı. It was as amazing as the very helpful and sweet cashier/server promised. Look it up— you won’t be disappointed!! We brought home leftovers sufficient for a whole other meal. We...
