Even though it has been a little while since I had my original issue with this restaurant, today I felt compelled to write a review because I decided to give this location another chance. My trigger this time was seeing the car in front of me accept their food from the drive thru window then handing it back to the drive thru staff after having the food in their vehicle. Here we are in a global health crisis and you can count on Chic-fil-a rigidity when it comes to ensuring a customer returns food the health department deems as contaminated. Not to mention, I also noticed the staff wearing disposable gloves handling customer food and money transactions without changing their gloves. The health department really needs to give this crew a training workshop on cross contamination!
So how all of this relates to my initial experience that made me feel disgusted with this location....several months ago, I had a horrific experience reminiscent of Chik-fil-a rigid practices as it relates to expecting the customer to pay for their errors.
That being said, the Asian manager that works at this location is evil to the core. A while back, I visited this location, and spent a ridiculous amount of time waiting in the drive thru. When I finally received my order, I was running late to work and did not realize my order was incorrect until I pulled out of the drive thru, a few minutes down the road. When I discovered my order was incorrect, I attempted to call the restaurant multiple times but could not get through. I was running late for work so I kept calling as opposed to immediately driving back.
When I eventually got through, I spoke with a manger that apologized for my incorrect order then asked me to come back at my convenience and she would refund my money as well as issue a full refund. Since I did not eat my botched breakfast order, I returned during my lunch break. After I drove about twenty minutes, the Asian manager aggressively intervened and stopped the manager that offered the meal replacement with the refund. Bearing in mind, I bought the ENTIRE botched order back uneaten.
Before I could complete my thoughts, the Asian manager was overly aggressive about putting the food return at a higher priority than being empathetic about errors with the order that resulted in me having to burn my gas to get my order correct. Not only did she override the original manager offer to refund my money accompanied with a meal comp, she was quite combative during the transaction.
I have come to discover that the Chik-fil-a culture is consumed with going to extremes to make sure a customer does not get any sort of reasonable resolution when it comes to the inconvenience of a customer having to drive all the way back to the restaurant. Sure, I could have checked my order before I pulled off but when you spend as much time in drive thru to the extent that it makes you late to work, then it adds to the anxiety and one could easily drive off not realizing the order was correct. It’s just doesn’t sit well with me that the Asian manager was so aggressive and spoke to me in a condescending manner.
Now having witnessed the staff take food back from a customer through the drive thru window, I cannot help wondering what sort of leadership greed went into creating a culture with such pit bull mentality when it comes to making reasonable restitution for a customer that had to miss breakfast due to a...
Read moreLately, I’ve become disappointed in this location. At 9:30pm I went through the drive-through and the employee standing outside took my order. I told him I want the 4 count strip meal with fries, ice tea an additional side of Mac and cheese. He then proceeded to tell me they are out of Mac&Cheese. Ok, well I just went with the 4 strip meal and then paid for my meal. After paying and getting to the window, the employee told me they are out of the strips. I’m a little furious. I told her, the guy just told me that you were out of Mac&cheese but now telling me that you don’t have what I paid for?? She asked if there is anything else I wanted. I only wanted the strips and Mac so I proceeded to tell her I want my money back. She tells me it will take about 30 days to be back into my account. So I wasted my time, gas and gave them money that I won’t get back for 30 days. But what really is mind boggling to me, they didn’t offer anything for the inconvenience. Most places will give you a gift card/coupon for a free meal or at least a free sandwich for the next time you come back, but they didn’t offer or do a damn thing. To make matters worse, there were other employees carrying on and giggling behind the employee that gave me the bad news. As for the young immature employees, this place has been unprofessional that last few times I stopped by. I’m shocked this location has went down to the level of other companies. I used to think of Chick-fil-a as an upper echelon fast food company because of their quick and professional service with above average food but not so much anymore. Save yourself the trip if you plan on coming after 9pm. I wouldn’t come after 9pm because some of their food items are sold out 30 mins before closing and this place gives off the perception that it is ran by high schoolers that don’t understand the concept of pleasing the customer after not inconveniencing them...
Read moreWhile most times Chick-fil-A has excellent service and drive-thru and curbside logistics, this location seems to be struggling right now. Customers do not abide by the lanes, and double-park in the curbside areas, causing near-accidents.
Furthermore, we had to wait in excess of 18 minutes in the curbside slot for a small order of two salads.
Two weeks ago, the order was incorrect. We did not realize until we got home. We checked to make sure the stay mistake has been made with this order. It had not. However this time when we got home the store did not include any salad dressing for two salads. When we called the store to let them know it was incorrect and we were unable to return because it took so long to get the order in the first place, the only response was they would give us two milkshakes. when we said that we do not drink milkshakes, the next response was to offer us cookies. (Typically, people ordering salads prefer healthy food.) Such a poor "rectification" is not acceptable. What we really wanted was our order to be provided correctly.
When we declined the insufficient response to a second incorrect order in less than 2 weeks, we said we would be providing a review on Google, all the employee said was "okay, goodbye." I do not know how that is an acceptable response. It is sad that Chick-fil-A does not care about customer service like they used to. It is clear that some customers are no longer a priority.
There are numerous other restaurants in the Perry Hall area that provide food and service without the problems that this Chick-fil-A has. Additionally, there are two other Chick-fil-As within 5 miles that provide much better customer service. It is sad to see that this business has forgotten how important...
