As they say, honesty is the best policy and follow through is so important. I sent emails to a Betsy regarding the treatment received at Rosaria on 3rd. No response.
I was told that Monday and Tuesday were dollar oyster Happy Hour from 4 Pm to 6 PM. This excited me, I love oysters. I called ahead on Monday to confirm the oyster promotion. I would meet a frined there at 5:45.
I arrived there by 5:50. When I asked about the oysters, they said I needed to move to the bar. We were in the bar prior to 6PM. When I ordered the oysters, I was told that “they were all out.” She continued, “this rarely happens, and I (she) went back to the kitchen, and they said they were all out tonight.” Not, they did not run the special.
My friend and I went back to our original seats and sat and talked. The waitress did not return for at least 10 minutes. During our conversation we thought with "no oysters" but a heavy rain, let’s order off the menu. I said, this is very strange, and I said I will order 6 oysters and see what happens.
Our waitress was "H" and it was already more than 10 minutes. We ordered dinner. I ordered 6 oysters. MIRACULOUSY, they appeared. 4 were wonderful and 2 not so good (smell). In this case no one said that the dollar oysters were any different than the meal oysters.
We found the waitress very congenial. She didn’t come around much but I asked her if there is a lot of lobster in the ravioli and she said lots…. It didn’t taste much different than what I once bought at Costco, but the sauce was better. Everyone I tell is surprised that they didn’t offer me the other oysters on the special since you had them. Everyone can only guess what the motive is.
After I was telling all the guys at the gym the oyster story at Rosario’s, again they said call Phil Barone, he will take care of this. When I want something taken care of it had nothing to do with money. The manager offered to return my oyster money DIFFERENCE. I said no. I just said you have lost me as a Rosie’s customer, and I come every couple of months with retired teachers and it’s not money. He said he was going to talk to H and that I had my time all wrong the check said 6:08…. That was when we ordered. I know I was there at 5:50 because I check my heart rate on my Apple Watch and the time. all the time, due to Afib and I was rushing.
Then this was the KILLER comment which would end any dealings with Rosie’s. He said he was not the manager last night and “they did not run the special”. Wherever he got that comment it redacted what Haley said to us. No one said that to us. I was told they ran out early.
The manager kept offering me a pittance of money I said no. He said what do you want. I said an apology. He gave me one that sounded like the one’s I get from students. To me it was the “Sorry” I get that parents say “Say it as if you mean it.”Then the story we didn’t run the special, H would have said that the day before when we were told to move to the bar for oysters. I am not a verbal game player.
I know you run a very good business, and I would go back but now I will not. If I hear Rosie’s, I will repeat the story.
As an oyster lover, you would have had a steady customer. You lost one. The story about not running the special on Tuesday, and the fact you were out but I still got 6 (they didn’t say they were different quality), We thought H was great and nice and we left big tips. The manager on Wednesday evening angered me that it took me 48 hours before I wrote this.
I was going to google, yelp or blog it but I thought considering what positives the people say about Phil Barone I’ll hold my judgement. I held my judgement and Can assume. you wanted me to write this since I never heard back...
Read moreMy husband surprised me with a trip to Perrysburg to stay at Belamere Suites and to have a nice dinner for our 29th wedding anniversary. He chose Rosarisa's.
He made a reservation, and once we were seated, our server Gabby came over and asked what we wanted to drink. We wanted water with lemon at the time while we looked over the menu and drink options. About 15 minutes or so later, my husband saw Gabby said excuse me, we'd like to get started with an appetizer. She never came directly to us. We ordered Rosarisa's Rockefeller which was very good.
We had never been there before and she never made any menu or drink suggestions. We actually had to flag her down again to place our dinner orders, and we didn't end up getting a drink except our water.
For our dinner entrees, I ordered Lobster Ravioli with a Ceaser salad to start with, then my husband ordered the Pork chop with mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts with a Ceaser salad to start. We waited 25 minutes and our salads finally came out which were good but then not 3-4 minutes later a gentleman came with our dinner entrees not even giving us enough time to enjoy our salads. Both of our entrees were just warm, and you could tell they had been setting in the back kitchen for a while.
The Lobster Ravioli was pretty good but the fried leeks on top I thought were to much and reminded me of French's, french fried onions. I picked most of them off. I like my food hot and this wasn't even close. My husband's Pork chop, he said was good but had way to much BBQ sauce on it and everything was very strong flavors. He couldn't even finish it. We decided that since we were celebrating our anniversary, we would get dessert and we chose the Tiramisu to share. We did enjoy it but could have done without all the chocolate all over the plate with the Tiramisu on top. A small bit of decorative lines on 1 side would have been sufficient.
All in all, the food was decent but honestly expensive for the quality and poor service. The food needed to be hot and time should also be given to eat our salads first without the food sitting back in the kitchen then bringing out only 3-4 minutes after we received our salads.
The service definitely needed to be a lot better. Gabby definitely should have made some drink and menu suggestions. She never even asked us if we wanted a different drink besides the water we asked for when we 1st arrived. She never checked in on us to see if we needed anything or to see if our dinner tasted good, and we should not have to flag her down for everything, and I mean everything. I've been a server myself years ago, so these are critical things that need to happen. Especially if you want customers to return sometime and to receive a decent tip. We are all about tipping well if we receive excellent service.
And it was quite loud in the restaurant and very hard to hear each other...
Read moreFrom the beginning of my experience on Sunday it took 20 min for a server to greet our table after my sister and I joined my mom from the bar. The pace never shortened, several minutes later she came back to take our appetizer order, then after it was taken your kitchen “lost power” so they couldn't finish baking the Mama's Bread we'd ordered…. So we waited to see if our dinner orders could be taken, luckily 10-15 min later the power was restored... we got our hot appetizer, which was never comped, we then ordered dinner, salads, my sister and mom got their salads (one ordered a Caesar salad which was a watery vinaigrette) - No Salt and Pepper on your tables, nor offered when delivered, fresh cracked or otherwise) and I never got my salad until they were almost done w/their Salad course then dinner arrived WITH my salad, I asked, "Can you please hold mine in the kitchen until I finish my salad", my Moms lobster ravioli looked like it’d been sitting in your kitchens expo window for 10+ minutes, sauce was dried out on top, my sisters steak was over cooked, my pork chop which came with mashed potatoes had the same mashed potatoes on them when they returned it now cold and hard - shocked that your brussels sprouts have walnuts in them, that's not even listed on your menu and as a BIG allergen CERTAINLY SHOULD BE! Then the kitchen lost power AGAIN, there were tables that never got to eat, and nobody offered them any COLD food, salads, cold apps, - nothing. Very disappointing experience for us and those guests. Nothing was bought for us for the inconveniences, just “we’re sorry” by our server. Furthermore, my sister had to use your bathroom during this second outage, and it was PITCH BLACK, no emergency lighting, she needed to use her flashlight to use the facility. There was no manager table touch during the entire evening, never saw him at any other table explaining the situation, apologizing, etc. What I did witness was him more worried about getting his bar drawer to the office than handling the guests in the...
