Amazing food/very fresh but..... my rating will remain one star for the following reasons: (1) customer service needs a lot of improvement. (2) the waiting time is too long if you are a woman. I have no idea why the women who work here are so rude to female customers and discriminate against female customers. You will stand in line for 20 mins waiting for someone to take your order. They will take orders from male customers first even when they arrive AFTER you. Its an experiment I have done with my cousins and sisters and each time has proven my theory right. Unbelievable. They get NO TIP. (3) Even when you order over the phone 30 mins in advanced, you STILL have to come to the restaurant to wait another 30 mins. There goes your lunch time. (4) Lack of understanding is surreal. They do NOT understand their own language. I order from this restaurant daily, and they get my orders wrong daily AFTER confirming, and reconfirming and confirming again that in fact I want the items I said I wanted: "do you want rice?" "yes I do" "so, you want rice?" "Yes, I do" "ok, so you want rice and what else?" but later you realize that they actually did not give you the type of rice you actually ordered. It's just incredible. I am starting to question if they do this on purpose or they are just really stupid. You don't need a certification to take food orders, but the people who work here should go get one on a serious note. (5) No delivery, so you have to come here and deal with the lack of customer service and the parking situation for an hour, which is another nightmare. I highly recommend the...
Read morePROs: Food for the most part is delicious, fresh and flavorful. Authentic Dominican dishes and variety in dishes. Pricing is fair. Waitresses for the most part are friendly and attentive.
CONS: Service is a hit or miss, when you ask for a specific order or cooked a certain way 8/10 times they get it wrong you have to continually repeat and have them repeat your order to make sure they get it right. & that's only because I speak fluent Spanish I am sure if there was a language barrier it would probably be worse. I have ordered via phone only to come home and have missing items which is annoying, the waitresses feel overwhelmed with how busy it gets especially around dinner time.. however the manager does make good (that's if you notice when you're there) OR on your next visit if brought to his attention. Even when calling ahead (20 min) you have to wait on your order when you pickup...what's the point in pre-ordering? Parking can be a pain they have a very limited off street parking and street parking feels like finding a parking...
Read moreThis truly is the worst Spanish restaurant in Perth Amboy. When they first opened years back I went in for the first time and had the worst experience at a restaurant mainly with the service of their employees they are horrible. The feeling that I feel when I walk in and out of that place shouldn’t be. I don’t know if it’s because I’m white or gay with my Hondurian husband. Without saying to much I just walked out tonight without my food. And that will be the last time this establishment will see my money. You think with so much competition in town the workers and the owner that was sitting by the bar the entire time would be a little bit more welcoming to their customers. They were too busy about conversation between each other and stuffing their own faces And not serving their customers. For the people that read this a great restaurant in town with wonderful customer service is el Meson or el gran valle in Perth...
