Someone else chime in... do you guys think these are reasonable prices for catering???
I was quoted... $187 for a Tray of Bistek Encebollado (.. for comparison, I was quoted, $94 for a Tray Chicken Francese at an Italian restaurant). $124, for Arroz con Pollo. $120, for half a tray of Pastelon.
One star review and I didn't even step foot in this establishment. What a complete turn off!
They are expecting to get 300% profit margins factoring how much it cost them to buy the ingredients to make these dishes.

The audacity is coming from you to charge those outrageous prices. Customer's always right........right?
I don't need to be a mechanic to know if have a flat tire. So No, I don't need to, ".....own restaurant" to know what is REASONALBLE!! If I would have catered with you, I would have spent close to $400. I know I don't have to cater with you, and that's why I didn't. My google reviews have over a million views, so hopefully I can help others make an informed decision. Get real, and bring yourself back to reality with those prices. Good thing it's not seafood, you guys would charge $$$$$
I did end up catering for my event from a ZAGAT rated restaurant, and spent a portion of what you guys would have charged. Toscano in Bordentown. As if Beef should cost 3x as much...Ok buddy! Also, they don't use AI generated pictures on their website. I've worked in or related to food distributions, grocery and/or restaurant, so I fully know that beef is more expensive. But again, not at the level you're trying to pass off.
"Our P Rican food is a rarity". That is laughable!! PR restaurants are a dime a dozen in this state. Pastelon isn't gourmet dining. It's GOOD, but let's not kid ourselves. Platano Maduros (that are cheap) with melted cheese and ground beef.
Your response and tone will make me keep this ONE...
Read moreRecently found this gem of a spot and I’ve already been here 5 times since!! I don’t live in an area that has any kind of decent Puerto Rican/Dominican dishes (Jackson). We have tried numerous restaurants, food trucks, etc. and they just weren’t it. Then we found Torres Cafe, this is that food that you take a bite and immediately look over to who you’re with in disbelief. My wife and I have had a little bit of everything and we’ve yet to find something that didn’t hit the spot, we brought my parents today (for the second weekend in a row lol) and between all of us I think we’ve tried about 60% of their menu and it’s all been phenomenal. After coming so many times and leaving so satisfied I just had to write a review. The staff has always been respectful and eager to get us anything we need. Recently today we had the pleasure to meet the owners son and he was so kind and helpful it was truly a blessing to be in his service. We sat until after closing and they weren’t upset, in fact, they sent us home with some empanadas for free because they make them fresh every day and disregard the leftovers each night. Can’t say enough good things about this place. My new go to and recommendation for anyone looking for a taste of back home...
