Tropicana Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Perth Amboy

My first time ordering from the restaurant only to be treated rude and I will never go back. I made a mistake and order something wrong and yes I fully acknowledge it was my fault. But when I was told that I had no other choice but to pay for it or if not the Waitress would have to be responsible to pay for it. She stated that her boss makes her pay for anything that is a mistake it doesn’t matter if it’s the customers. First of all if that’s true that is completely wrong. We’re all human and we make mistakes but to make someone else pay for your mistake is absolutely wrong second of all she was so rude to me I couldn’t believe it I’m a first time customer and I’m bringing your business rather than you save the business you choose to belittle me and then tell me that I’m speaking wrong to you and you’re a Christian which had nothing to do with the fact.

I want to talk to manager she told me he was not there then after some she ended up saying she was the owner later on I found out she was not. She was so rude I’m lost for words WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE DOESNT MATTER HOW GOOD THE FOOD IS. Service is also important especially when you are paying with your hard earned money. I’m more then happy to speck with management in order to correct that servers error in how she treated this customer. I’m not looking for no one to get fired but she was wrong in every way you see it. And then to bring religion in to the fact is also wrong. You’re supposed to be professional at all time and she was not well I tell everyone my experience absolutely I will.

Never go here not worth you being treated wrong...

This is my favorite taco spot in all of Perth Amboy. The Tacos are always LOADED!! the meat is delicious and rich and the ambiance of the place is a whole vibe! I will say that their horchata is a hit or miss. Some data’s it’s thick and rich. Other days like today, it tastes like straight sweet water. Really puts the agua on agua fresca if you know what I mean. That criticism aside though, the establishment is very clean and it’s a well kept store. The service is awesome, prices are reasonable and they have a lot of stuff to offer. I do highly recommend the steak tacos with everything on it (which is what I got) and the chicken flautas! They are amazing. Also, just to answer any questions; today I was on a walk with my dog. I called and they let me in to pay with my dog. I ordered online to avoid any language barriers and my food was still completely wrong. Fahitas came with red sauce and instead of peppers and onions, there were tomatoes (with a few peppers thrown in). Enchiladas were the worst I've ever had. No cheese at all, chicken bones were in almost ever bite, I even found some in in the rice! The red sauce tasted like spicy Italian pasta sauce from a can. Then when I came to pickup I added 2 pieces of cheese cake. When I opened the container, this smell of spoiled milk was almost overwhelming. The strawberry topping was basically plastic from sitting so long. That is such a health hazard and I was so disgusted. All in all, $50 completely wasted and we went to bed hungry. Never again. So many other good places in that area, don't waste...
