Inconstant Quality: Sometimes it's great and sometimes it's lousy. Sometimes, we've found the gluten free pizza at Acre Pizza/Petaluma to be some of the best around. However we cannot count on having good pizza there. In recent months: once it was severely burned and black (the server told me that's normal and I insisted they redo it). Another time the thick crust pizza was like raw dough in the middle (clearly not cooked enough). Sometimes the pizza is flooded with cheese (fine by me). Tonight there was hardly any cheese or sauce and the flat surface of the pizza had large, bare sections. Sometime the sauce has nice flavor. Tonight it was acidic and the pizza was pretty tasteless. Several times, the veggie pizza has come with black olives. On another occasion it didn't and the cashier refused to add them even when I said I'd pay extra. Sometimes there are sun-dried tomatoes on the veggie pizza and sometimes not. We live 20-25 minutes away and used to look forward to Acre Pizza. But I doubt we're going to continue to make the trip when the quality simply isn't reliable and the price on...
Read moreWe supported this establishment from their inception. They served gluten-free pizzas at no extra cost over the regular since the beginning and that's part of why we became regulars. Like most pizza places, the gluten-free pizzas were thinner and probably not made in house, but it felt good to not pay extra for something that shouldn't cost extra, and we really liked their local ingredients. Most of my family eats regular pizza but not all of us. Recently Acre decided to charge an extra $3 for the gluten-free. The pizza is already expensive. This business decision was foolish and rude. The loss of gluten-free patrons includes their friends and family, a lot more business than it might seem. I already wrote to the company thru their website and never heard back. Shame on whoever decided this. We haven't been back and won't be back unless the gluten-free...
Read moreI think people are aware of acre pizza's quality and style, which might not be for everyone but if you like it you love it. I also think people aren't aware of how nice the dining room is to go hang out in. Great but small beer selection with some fun games. It's turning into a fun for adults/kids old school pizzeria. Shuffle board, pool, hockey, and they said they have a couple more arcade games on the way. I always would get takeout from here but now will definitely press to go eat in the dining room with the wife and kid/friends.
I like the Detroit pepperoni, I think it doesn't come with enough red sauce personally so I get extra. Salads are...
