Aqus Café is a lovely place for breakfast, lunch, or tea/coffee with a snack. There's great variety and freshness on the menu of egg dishes; freshly-baked muffins, scones, bagels, and pastries (get there early for those); sandwiches including grilled paninis; soups; salads; and warm entrees like enchilada casserole and flatbread pizzas. The community atmosphere, good food, and constant flow of events makes this place a neighborhood gold mind. They have the best classified board in town and they have an awesome newsletter to keep us all up to date on what's happening in Petaluma. The service is great too. I've loved everything I've ever eaten, or drank, great coffee and pastries. The breakfast burrito is currently the best in town, a little pricey, but well worth it, and we'll the price of food has gone up everywhere, so for what it's worth it's worth all the while. This place is great in so many ways. Good pastries, good sandwhiches, good staff, etc.. The owners are nice and involved in the community, and the clientele is local and friendly BUT their espresso is terrible. It's bitter, sour and literally makes me feel ill. I wish they could figure out a better roast, or water temp/grind combination to improve it. And over the last few months it's just gotten worse. Ugh.
