I have been a customer of Lombardi's Gourmet Deli & BBQ for over fifteen years! I first visited during a weekend trip from San Francisco. I saw a crowd outside at picnic tables, enjoying meals. Curious, I stopped in to check it out and immediately became a fan!

Lombardi's is a family-owned deli and BBQ restaurant in Petaluma, California. Lee Lombardi founded it in July 1999. Before opening the deli, Lee enjoyed barbecuing for players and families at his daughter's basketball tournaments to help with travel costs. Inspired by this, he turned a vacant store at the corner of Petaluma Boulevard North and Skillman Lane into a deli and BBQ spot, starting with a small team of family and friends.

In 2000, Scott Nelson, at age 19, joined Lombardi's after seeing a promotional flyer. He became a partner in 2003. His dedication helped the restaurant grow. Lombardi's has won many awards, including Best Caterer, Best BBQ, and Best Deli in the Petaluma People's Choice Awards, showing its popularity and reputation.

Last weekend, we stopped by to order our favorite, the Tri-Tip Dinner. The place looked different! They remodeled about a year and a half ago; this was my first time seeing it. I usually wait in the car while my partner goes inside. The staff was friendly and helpful, as always, and the Tri-Tip was delicious. If you're in the area, I highly recommend trying them out. Check their menu first; they have many great sandwiches, BBQ, sides, and salad options.

My top favorites are their BBQ ribs. Whenever I go in, I tell myself to try something else, but I often order the BBQ ribs or the Tri-Tip! For sandwiches, I like the Salmon and Smokin' Chicken Sandwiches. Their Gobbler sandwich is also very good. I recommend the BBQ Baked Beans and the Sundried Tomato Pesto Tortellini as sides.
