Pete's Henny Penny Restaurant — Restaurant in Petaluma

Well I'll start off by saying I was excited to return to Henny considering I'd be in town for a concert and had been here once before, and really enjoyed it. It was Sunday morning around 10:30 so I of course expected it to be busy. I waited at the door for maybe five minutes (no problem there). I get seated at the counter with no menu, I figured someone would be coming by and see I have no menu and offer one,..nope. Five minutes into me just sitting there a woman stopped by and said ill be right with you,...five minutes later still no menu. So finally I got up and grabbed one myself. Starting to get somewhat annoyed I reminded myself that they are busy and to just be patient. About four minutes later another woman approached me asking if I'd like something to drink (finally someone noticed me just sitting there). Finally I got an iced tea but then I waited there another 10 minutes still nobody coming by to take my order. Deep breaths...lol...they are busy (I keep saying too myself). FINALLY (almost 25 minutes) after sitting down a gal noticed me and asked my waitress to take my order. Happy that someone noticed, I'm thinking okay this the last of my having to wait (wishful thinking). She takes my order, I order the smoked salmon benedict with my English muffin toasted crispy. I do that because the muffin tends to get soggy due to the water from the poached eggs. I also ordered one pancake. Yay, we are on our way. I sit back and read the news on my phone... about 10 minutes in I'm thinking okay where's my food? I look up and see another patron who sat down at the same time I did getting up to leave....now I'm seriously annoyed! Still another 10 minutes and FINALLY my food arrived. Ready to dig in my food is luke warm.....my poached eggs are so overcooked they are like they are like hard-boiled eggs. My English muffins are wet and undercooked. My pancake cold🤦‍♀️. She had just dropped off my food I stopped my waitress and asked her if she would get me a new pancake cuz mine was cold, she's like aren't you sure you don't want me to just heat it up in the microwave...now im officially angry...NO I WANT A FRESH ONE!!! I got halfway through the meal and just gave up. I went to the counter and told her I needed my check to pay my bill once again had to wait about 5 minutes. Worst...

The salad was ok, but basically I was afraid to eat anything else. And I had already almost finished it when I heard all of this take place. I felt sick after. 2 servers (women) were talking to the cook. Loudly!! About why he wasn’t washing his hands. That everytime he puts something in his mouth he needed to wash his hands. And they kept coming back and hollering at him. Not even trying to be quiet. One in Spanish and the other in English. They looked like twins. My server, a lady with longer lighter brown hair…acted like she didn’t know anything and like she was super high or something. When I asked for the seafood pasta and if I could have Alfredo on it she said, uh…I think we are out of fettuccine. I said your out of fettuccine? She said…yea…that’s what they said back there. So I guess we are out of it. Never really looking at me. It was sooo weird. I’m not sure she ever looked at me. Atleast when I was looking at her. The whole experience was terrible. To top it all off, a group of college guys waiting for the bathroom were super loud in a booth behind me and I just could enjoy a moment of peace. Overall a terrible terrible experience. I seriously threw out my food and spent a bunch of money for nothing....

Honestly. It was loud. The food isn't anything better than any other diner out there. It was packed when I went. The food that was served to me was wrong & cold. I eventually got my actual order which had hashbrowns.

Let me say this. You need to provide smaller portions of hashbrowns when cooking OR ELSE THE ENTIRE DISH OF HASHBROWNS DOESN'T COOK ALL THE WAY THROUGH. The hashbrowns were cold and uncooked except for the places with grill brown char. I don't know if it was just a random cook that day. But wow. Yall need to recruit some waffle house vets. The omelet was cold. The greens inside the omelet were cold. Bacon pieces were somewhat warm. Not crispy tho. Not how you would want them.

Don't get the strawberry shake. It isn't worth $6.75. Also why price a milkshake higher than the pulpfiction milkshake price? That's crazy. P.s the strawberry shake does taste good & it's not too thick. (Also they give you regular size straws for the shake. Not straws made for the thickness of shakes.) I know you aren't using a full order of strawberries for the shake & milk is used in other recipes in the kitchen. So flat out the shake shouldn't be that high.
