Seafood Palace — Restaurant in Petersburg

Everything about this spot is special. The woman working the counter was incredibly kind and welcoming. Excellent service that makes you feel at home. The moment you walk inside, you can feel that you’re in the presence of good people.

The food was unbelievable. I live down in Hampton, but this spot will now be a staple anytime I’m passing by Petersburg. I got the shrimp & crab fries with steamed shrimp. My girlfriend got old bay steamed shrimp & fries. Everything about it was great. We opened the take-out boxes to see the most eye-popping, beautifully dressed meals. The food looks straight out of a magazine or FoodNetwork TV show. But who cares how it looks? The quality is what matters, and Seafood Palace delivered as high of a quality meal as you can get. Large portions, fresh & hot, short wait time, and the flavor was on point. The shrimp were large and cooked perfectly. You could dump their sauce on a rock and eat it. It’s that good.

This place is a hidden gem. I’ve bounced around the country quite a bit now, living in a handful of different states and cities. This is one of those rare food spots that you remember wherever you go, and bring up in conversation with friends. If I lived closer, I’d be broke. I went here been in November 2024 and forgot to do my review. Location is pretty good. Not too far from 95 and sitting in a corner. Plenty of street parking. Small building, but there's outdoor seating. The menu is displayed on tvs and they have take out menus. Everything is described well. The price is high for the area, but not high for the type of food or the quality.

I can't remember my exact order, but I remembered getting a whiting meal, shrimp, and loaded fries. It wasn't for me, but my wife shared with me. The food was amazing. Everything was cooked well. The seasonings were perfect for each dish. It tasted like they use specific seasons for specific dishes compared to using the same seasonings for everything. I loved the loaded fries. They had crab meat, seasoning, a sauce, and possibly shrimp (can't remember exactly). If you don't try anything else there, you have to try that.

The wait was a little long, but understandable because everything is cooked to order. I think the quality of the food and the fact that everything is cooked to order makes the price worth it. I would recommend you can ahead if you don't have time to wait.

I haven't been back YET, but I definitely plan to! It's probably my new favorite seafood restaurant...

I had to experience Seafood Palace according to all the great reviews. I ordered the 3 piece whiting with fries and a side order of corn. The staff were great, very warm and welcoming. I explained I had never been there before but I had heard great things about the food. The area was a little sketchy and I didn’t feel real comfortable so I waited in my car until time to go back in and get my food. The lady who waited on me asked me what type of sauce did I want on my corn and she gave me options. I had never heard of sauce on corn so I didn’t know what I wanted, it was a choice between two out of three. She asked me if I wanted to try both and I said yes thinking she was going to put them in little to-ġo cups so I can try each separately. When I got home and saw my corn smothered in this sauce, I about choked. I did not like that! If I didn’t like the sauce (and I didn’t) then I could have had plain corn. Not only that but the corn was so overcooked it was mush with sauce.😖😩. The fish more than made up for the corn disappointment. Three huge pieces of fish, and fries were seasoned well and delicious!!
