Waffle House — Restaurant in Phenix City

I stood in the cold at the walkup window. I had a question about my order.They saw me stabnding outside in the cold and took their sweet time to come ask what I needed. As a matter of fact the young girl just stood there and looked at me. By the time i received what I needed for my order, the food was cold(MAYBE from standing outside!) I told the young lady how I felt about my experience and she wanted to argue and give me every excuse for bad service. I said this is not a debate or argument. This is simply me giving you feedback. She was very young and still wanted to debate. I said, "No, you've misunderstood, this is not a debate. I wasn't using profanity or a rude tone. I simply gave feedback regarding my experience. It's the most hood wafflehouse I've ever visited. Most Wafflehouse employees are very nice and personable. I figure the service charge with automatic gratuity doesn't help this Phoenix...

Our server Deysha brought us our silver where 20 minutes after receiving one of our meals out of four we waited 40 more minutes for our other two. She served us a waffle that was burnt and then never asked if we wanted syrup. After our other meals were served we where missing 3 items and she proceeds to tell us that they gave the wrong food to another customer. But never told us that in the beginning of waiting 40 minutes for the food. Then when confronted she had a nasty attitude and blamed it on them being busy in which they were not. 3 tables sat after us receiving their food and left while we still waited. I had to traxk down to other servers for refills. Then she said it was our fault. When we finally had enough and just wanted to pay for our food she had no idea what our ticket was. This woman should absolutely be fired for her poor serving and...

Food was good. Service was slow to start but sped up after initial contact. Staff very diverse and you could tell there was tension between some. Talk about being hot and too cold. Someone turned the air conditioning on (which it was hot in the restaurant) and some complained. Yet another employee asked everyone working if they needed water to not get dehydrated working.. (heat advisory outside today too) I guess Manager (wearing dark shirt) complained that one employee got too hot and just liked to complain. When like I said it was hot in the restaurant. I had sweat on the back of my neck.

All in all food was good, grits were delicious. Hashbrown bowls were a very welcomed change to our norm. Our waiter was VERY VERY polite!!!! Restaurant was very clean.
