Whoever the light-skin women is with the very big surprises eyes, you are extremely rude and need to be fired immediately. I have came here plenty of times and raved to people how great this place is only to be disrespected by this one employee. First of let’s start with the beginning, on Sunday June 4th my family and I came in for brunch around 1:00 PM, we were not properly greeted by the older darker women with dreads who sat at the front, we asked for a table to accommodate our party of 4 when I asked how long the wait will be she claimed that there is many people in front of us wanting a table, which is fine. After 2 minutes we sat down she had a very bad attitude and I believe it was because this place closes around about 3/4 ish, so she probably didn’t want to seat us at all. Then the waiter (light-skin women with the large eyes) ask for our order and everything we wanted was not available !! No salmon and grits, no bacon. As an establishment please have a note at the front explaining what you do and don’t have to save paying customers time and money. We went ahead and order a avocado toast, eggs, turkey sausages, waffles, and shrimp and grits. It took 20/30 minutes for the shrimp and grits to come out , they were cold tasteless and made poorly it tasted rushed, 20 minutes later we received the avocado toast and turkey sausages and waffles. The avocado toast was just terrible, they gave not one f$$@ about the representation of that toast. The bread was mushy and the avocado was to salty I’m 100% sure I have high blood pressure now, they put three big slices of tomatoes on it with large cooked onions, it was a total and utter mess, I had to laugh at it in total disbelief that they really thought I would be satisfied. We could still taste the batter in the waffles as if it was cooked on the outside but not the inside, they were also cold like a 12 pack of Eggos from save-a lot AMESS!! Last but not least this women comes out another 15 minutes later with eggs, that we forgot we even ordered who bring eggs out after the entree ??? Oh this place. I told the same women (light- skin large eyes) that we did not want the eggs she replied very rudely and aggressively “WELL I DON’T CARE” and walked away. I have NEVER been treated that way a day in my life. We would’ve went to any establishment for brunch but came here because 1. We support black owned business 2. I came here numerous times before and always had the best time. This is the reason most people complain about “black business” ignorant, no sympathy, and no proper customer service. Pure and utter laziness rudeness and disrespectful. That women needs to be fired and get out of the restaurant business before another customer actually does something. There’s a place up the street called “CRAY TASTE” go there instead same amazing vibes but better customer service and food, and the light skin big eye’d lady won’t be there to tell you “SHE DON’T CARE ABOUT YOUR...

Those are the most important things in a business and I truly believe that will keep people coming back, but today will be my first and last time here. When we entered, a waiter was there to welcome us. We said hello, she kind of nodded and showed us to our seats. She didn’t say” welcome to or my name is etc. When we sat, she took out her notepad and just stared at us, very awkwardly as we gave our drink choices. When she returned to take our food orders, she didn’t ask ( if it was our first time there or did we have any questions? My fiancé and I was very put off and thought the service was not rude, but unpleasant. We actually started to come up with some excuses as to why she was quiet but when she returned with our food that did it. She gave us the wrong plates, ( mind you, we’re the only ones in the dinning room ) which she apologized for and eventually walked off. FYI, if you only have 2 customers in the restaurant, they should be the prime target. Make sure they go without anything. When we looked down at the food, immediately we were disappointed. The grits was soaked in butter, I mean if I turn the bowl and pour it out , I can probably have a cup of butter. The shrimp looked frozen, not fresh and unseasoned. Please keep in mind, we didn’t try none of it, but presentation can be improved. When the server returned, we asked, “ why was the cheese put on top and not mixed in”? She replied the health inspector said we can’t do that. I’ve been eating all my life and I’ve never heard such a thing. Now, if that wasn’t an option, we should of been informed. We paid for the coffee we sipped and left. Thanks but no thanks. I hope this business use the negative/positive feedback to improve they business. I’m happy to see a Black owned business open up in such a great area but you have to improve your business. If so, you guys can be one of the best breakfast spots...
Read moreSo a few things could make this a really nice spot to have brunch. Take the waitresses out to lunch to observe and learn how to serve patrons. Take notes. How to greet them. How to check in on them. How to meet their needs. What they did well. What they could have done better. The girls were all very nice, they simply need training. In addition, consider hiring experienced servers and check their references. And have one waitress/waiter. Also, have your manager interview another manager of a successful restaurant. He was very nice and I think he’ll be open to getting better at managing the employees. Next, if you want to expand your clientele, consider rebranding and possibly a name change. Next, break bread with your neighbors. Take a plate to them. Kindly ask them to remind their patrons where to sit. Lastly, most of the bad reviews are from patrons from next door who were told they could not sit at your restaurant. Consider place-cards, big ones, on your table and make your sign above bigger. The writing on the tables are not enough. We didn’t even see it when we sat down. If someone sits, kindly ask if they are dining with you. If they say no, kindly tell them that your tables are reserved for your patrons. Learn now to communicate that kindly and respectfully. I know you don’t mean harm, but the way we saw it communicated may have come off as rude and those patrons of the other restaurant will leave bad reviews without even dining at your restaurant. Most times, even when they food isn’t great, people will give you another chance if the service is excellent. Be that. Service is very important. Lastly, have your patrons give feedback. You all were very open to our suggestions, so I hope you consider them. I hope you guys do make it. With some changes, you can. Good luck!
