This will be my final time coming here. From the greeting, the service, the food. I was very dissatisfied. The lady was not pleasant when greeting and I was asking the wait time so I know if my family and I should stay or leave. The food was not good at all. The silverware was dirty! Out of 5 plates only 1 plate was right. I ordered the salmon cake and grits and the salmon cake wasn’t hot and was bland nothing special about it but salmon in a ball with peppers and onions just bland. Then my grits had so much butter in them I could pour the butter into a measuring cup; I didn’t even ask for butter. Then when they brought me out new grits with American cheese the grits were so loose mines as well been cream of wheat. My bacon wasn’t brought out with my food. Atleast my bacon was hot. My bacon wasn’t cooked all the way through. My daughter food they brought out her blueberry waffle but not her meat; she had to ask for it. My grandmother plate the fish and grits she didn’t get cheese in her grits but she sure got all the butter. They forgot her cornbread she had to ask for it. When asking the male waiter Joseph or Joshua for something or reminding him we were missing something it was if we were bothering him. I came here a few times and nothing was good then. The vibes was there but that’s because who we came with. It’s pretty in here but that’s it pretty and good music. My family and I won’t be back!

Outstanding food, decor and overall experience at Breakfast Boutique. A real asset to Chestnut Hill. Which is saying something since we're already awash in great restaurants. I have celiac. I was amazed (and gratified) to see gluten-free options on the menu. I had gone in assuming I wouldn't be able to have pancakes. Wrong. I had buckwheat banana pancakes, three of them, almost as big as the plate, all scrumptious. My wife had french toast stuffed with buttercream. Roughly the size of a Volkswagen beetle. Incredibly decadent, gorgeous and thoughtful presentation. I can see us becoming regulars. I've seen the other reviews slamming their service. We didn't have that experience at all, but I wouldn't be surprised. They're in a new location and probably experiencing growing pains. I'm going to guess they're paying attention. I hope they are. Because to me that would be the only potential drawback. We deserve a unique place like this, and I would like them stay around a good long while in this space, which has already seen at least two prior restaurants come and go. As I say ... we'll be back.

I’m a regular customer of the breakfast boutique on Ogontz avenue and Broad street location. I have been loving and enjoying breakfast from the breakfast boutique for many years. I ordered two breakfast sandwiches, which were just okay. Tasty, but a little soggy, however nothing to complain about. Today we ordered two slices of cake with our sandwiches, strawberry lemonade and vanilla bean, the slices of cake were SO DRY that we could not even put our fork in the cake. Then we noticed a piece of hair on the icing! It was so disappointing. Called and asked for a refund on the cake slices only, and was told we could only receive a refund if we came back to the restaurant. After explaining to the manager how far we live, he still did not care. We drive from west Philadelphia, so you do the math. It wasn’t worth the trip. It’s a shame because you could tell that the cake would have been good had it not been sitting on the shelf for a week before being sold. Never this location again. Drive 5 mins to the Ogontz location for better food and better service.

So, we loved the vibe of this spot. Had to wait 20 minutes for a table but we didn't mind at all. We were so excited about the menu and options for everyone to have something tasty for their meal. So many delicious choices we decided to get a little bit of everything. However, the smiles went off of our faces very quickly when only a small portion of the food we ordered arrived at our table. We were told the rest was on the way out and everything that was put on our table was ice cold. We were sad that the food took almost a half an hour to come out and then another 10 minutes for the other portions of our meal. Even when the "rest" of the food appeared it still wasn't all the food and some of the toppings/sides were missing. 25 minutes after my food was placed in front of me I was served the toast I ordered. Which was not buttered as well as the cheddar cheese for the grits. Since the grits were served 25 minutes earlier the cheese couldn't possible melt on cold grits. We never received a side of home fries that we ordered and the one side of home fries that did make it to our table was completely undercooked when we asked for them to be burnt!! Completely undercooked, so when we got the "fixed" homefries they were even less cooked then the first order. The potatoes were actually hard and not cooked at all and now they had a strange chemical taste to them. The real maple syrup that we ordered 75 minutes earlier finally made it to the table 35 minutes after my daughter's waffle was actually served. This experience was AWFUL. the server really didn't even care about engaging with us because from the very beginning she just wanted to run from our table. I NEVER tip 15% on a bill. But after spending 2 hours in this restaurant to have breakfast that's exactly what I did. Normally tip over 25% because I was a server for 20 years but this was...

Lousy service and not great food. This is a restaurant that is out of control. Our party made a reservation for 1:15. (They close at 2) We waited more than an hour to be seated. They were technically closed well before we sat down. Then waited another hour for our food. Breakfast food, mind you. Some of us got our food separately. Eggs and potatoes arrived without scrapple, etc. Scrapple arrived an hour later. Never got toast even after a couple reminders. One person never got food at all. A man from another party went to the kitchen and wanted to know what was going on since he didn't get his food either. One person claimed she enjoyed her pancakes although she barely ate any of them. They were dry and crumbly. Avacado toast was as soggy as other reviewers.

Service is completely ridiculous. Our party was waited on by two young people who clearly don't know what they' were doing. When asked by one in our party (several of whom were experienced servers) they replied "We aren't waiters. We're just runners". Yet they took the order and brought the food. Paying was also difficult. Gave the person our money and waited forever for change. "(So-and-so) has the machine right now. You have to wait."

My suspicion is that since this is a black owned business that black patrons want to support it with good reviews. There is just no way so many people could really have a good experience there, while at the same restaurant so many have a consistently awful experience. We can't all be talking about the same place.

If you just want to support this business because of who owns it, go right ahead. But you've been warned that you are throwing your money away.

For those who think this is some hateful whitey, there were 13 in our party, only one was white. That one is not me. But it WAS the one who didn't...

My apologies in advance for such a harsh review but im tired of wasting money with this brand. I've been trying to figure out if the employees at either of the BB locations are just incompetent or actually have some mental disabilities. I've determined it must be the former because I work people who have disabilities and they follow directions way better than anyone here. I order delivery often...usually my day off brunch treat. Shrimp & grits and Chicken & Waffles are my go-tos. There is no consistency with the taste of the food but there is always consistency with the condition in which the food shows up....anything with butter on it will have all the butter spilled out in the bag because they don't invest in the proper containers for what they serve and they won't take simple extra precautions to prepare the food for travel. It5almost guaranteed that a part of my money will be refunded every time I order because something is wrong.

Today I ordered from this location because the other wasn't accepting orders or answering phone. I ordered chicken & waffles and a side of grits, asking for seasoning, butter, and also cheese since they don't put it as an option in the system.

All containers arrived smothered in butter. No butter on the grits of course because it was all in the bag and all over the containers. Nothing on grits that I requested, no utensils that I requested, no salt/pepper packets, no syrup for my waffles, nothing. The chicken wings were sitting in a puddle of grease which made them soggy. Nothing refund worthy or necessary. Just usual carelessness and the last time I'll be a patron. I...
