I'll start by saying the salad I had was THE BEST airport salad I've ever had, even if it was also the most expensive, at nearly $20. In fact, it was one of the best salads I've ever had while eating out. This was a VERY good salad. I would be leaving a five star review here IF it weren't for the most absurd payment process I've have come across in all my years of travel. Here is the process: You wait in one line to place your order at a computer kiosk at the service counter BUT you can't actually pay for your food at this kiosk, it just prints a small piece of paper with a QR code on it with no further instructions (that I recall). Now, I've never claimed to be the brightest bulb, but I can't be the only one confused by this because they have stationed an employee FULL TIME right next to the kiosk to explain how the first kiosk works and that you that you need to take the QR code to a SECOND kiosk to pay. So you go wait in a second line and then scan your QR code in to pay. Even that would be OK.... BUT... WAIT FOR IT..... IT DOESN'T EVEN PRINT A RECEIPT... Confused, I asked the guy who is stationed FULL TIME at the kiosk and whose only job is to deal with confused customers if I missed the step where it prints the receipt so I can file it with my expense report. His reply: "Oh, you can't print a receipt.' Seriously?? The system can print a QR code, but CANNOT print receipt, even if the customer requests one. Brilliant!!... 'Really? I say.. 'Really' he says with a very apologetic look on his face. After paying and NOT getting a receipt, you return to THE FIRST kiosk to collect your food. Wow. So anyway, awesome salad!! CRAZY payment process. I'll get pictures of the process next time I fly through, it is...
Read moreI ordered a Caesar salad with chicken and ice tea and extra dressing. My server’s name was Kristen. I inquired about several items on menu, and explained to me about the tomato bruschetta, sautéed shrimps and gnocchi. I was traveling to Berlin from Philadelphia and I knew I would be served dinner on the plane in several hours, so I didn’t want to eat a lot. The Caesar salad was exceptional. It had just enough chicken and croutons and lettuce was crisp and the dressing was very good. I was also very impressed with the service Kristen provided. She took her time and helped me order from my iPhone. She came by several times and asked me if everything was okay and offered to bring me extra dressing without charging me. If you are at the Philadelphia airport try the Ciba restaurant and ask for Kristen. She provided commendable and excellent service. I will eat here again. And please tip in cash! Server must 8 % tax on their...
Read moreUsually, I am not one for airport establishments, but I had an early morning flight from Philadelphia back to Chicago. Luckily, my gate had CIBO Bistro, and the menu was a good variety of breakfast goods for the early morning. I also went with the Bacon, Egg & Cheese Sandwich with American Cheese added on there. The best part is that it came out hot and fresh, which is lovely at 5 AM. It hit the spot for an early morning at the airport ( so did the mimosa). I forgot the name of the girl on duty that morning, but she was awesome. The only thing I disliked about the bar was that the seats were bolted to the ground, so you could not move the chair to get in comfortably. You have to wiggle in. A huge positive of this establishment is that you can order with the bartender on duty or the iPad. The bar also has chargers for all phone or tablet charging needs. A few chairs and tables are also set at the gate beside the...
