Some of you people are CRAZY!! If you can't be bothered to wait an hour at night, or 2 hrs on a Friday or Saturday, for the best damn pizza in Philadelphia...then you either don't know what good pizza should taste like, or you haven't been living in the neighborhood long enough to understand why this place is such a revered institution, and subsequently why the wait for delivery can be so long. Feel free to go buy some quick-delivered slop pizza elsewhere, and for more money too...Seriously, either call early or put your damn pants on and go pick it up. These guys have been making the best pies for as long as I can remember, 25 years probably, no joke. We're talking straight, no frills, DELICIOUS pizza here. Don't get me wrong, there are other spots in South Philly that also have great pizza, but they're restaurants, sit-down places, some of which might be better considered as having gourmet pizza and whose focus is not necessarily on delivery. Anyone who has ever worked in the pizza/restaurant biz should be amazed by the supremely consistent quality that this high volume pick-up or delivery ONLY operation, for lack of a better word, delivers. I pretty much refuse to purchase pizza from anywhere else, unless it absolutely can not be helped. Unfortunately, as far as my pizza habit is concerned, I've moved from the neighborhood several years ago, but even so, I go out of my way coming home from work if its pizza night to buy a City Pizza...I have literally driven a half hour each way from my house to pick one up, because there isn't a pizza joint in all of Delaware County that can hold a candle to City Pizza. I have trained my children to merely tolerate other pizzas. Again, if you can't be bothered to wait that's fine, in fact I'm glad, cause you just reduced the delivery time for the rest of...
Read moreWe live around 18th and Dickinson and often order from the one on Snyder even though their farther away, because I was always told this one doesn't deliver to our area. When I called Snyder, the girl said the 16th one IS in our range and they should deliver to us. "I guess it's really busy right now? I don't know what their problem is." So.....when have you EVER been told that they're too busy to deliver to you? Unless you run out of product, or are closed, or don't have any cars to deliver with, in which case you must have to WALK your pizzas to your customers, how is THAT a good reason for not delivering here??? Snyder is further and up until today (because they were busy too) won't deliver because it's out of their delivery range. It's a mile and a half away. 16th is 1.3 miles away according to Google maps. The sad part is the pizza here is really damn good, we order from City pizza once or twice a week from Snyder but all of a sudden, our area is forbidden to deliver to.I never ever go out of my way to write a review on anyone's business, but this makes absolutely NO sense and I'm not wasting anymore of my time ordering from a lazy,...
