Times may have changed, along with some of the neighborhood demographics, but man ole man, the quality remains. First time back eating at the Country Club in over 10 years. I happened to see the White Fish platter and decided to order. My partner ordered Eggs, Grits with Turkey Bacon. The whitefish salad was some of the best I have ever eaten. Bravo to the chef whom I was told makes it from scratch....Also I was given enough whitefish to spread on 3 bagels!!! And the CC Diner only charged $14.95!! My partner enjoyed her breakfast as well. The waitress was so nice and pleasant, as was the manager who greeted us when we walked in. To top it off, we purchased a small cheesecake for the two of us to take back to our hotel for later and my goodness; the cheesecake is one of the best if not the best I've had the pleasure of eating...Soft texture on the outside, and a creamy smooth rich flavor that melts in your mouth. A must for anyone visiting Philadelphia for a delicious diner experience and a treasure that has been around for over 60 years.

I decided to try this place out on Uber eats. My first time trying their food. I know food always tastes much better when you dine in any restaurant but I was ordering French toast for me and my kids for a quick meal. The French toast we did not like at all. The bread was so thick that the French toast batter did not even soak up all the bread. It was very dry without no good flavor. I was disappointed because it looked better than it tasted. My kids love French toast and they did not hardly eat any at all. However I also ordered Eggs over medium, homefries well with fried onions and sausage which I thought was delicious. So thats why I gave 3 stars. I would give this place a chance again but I will not be getting my food delivered. I will make sure that we eat at the restaurant.

UPDATE: today i took my child here. She loved it. She had breakfast for dinner. I had a salad with chicken, walnuts, dried cranberries and blue cheese. It was a HUGE portion. It was ok. The chicken for me was a little dry. The french onion soup was good. Our desert was a a BIG strawberry short cake 🎂, very good dessert. This place lace is like when you find a jewel in your closet, it was there and you didn't know, now you have it and you will never let go... My sis took me today to this place for my very first time. It was delicious, breakfast and pastry. The server was so kind and patient with all my inquiries. I was hoping for something like this close by and I never realized about this place even when I drove by so many times. Another plus for me was plenty of off street parking.

Wow! I so wanted to love this place and was very excited to go, but this was a very bad experience from the beginning. I'm surprised the place was decently full, because my experience was SO bad. We were missing one person from our party and asked for a booth, as there were many open, but the hostess said she could only seat us at a table or a booth not by a window until our other member joined us... Weird, but okay, and we just waited up front, no big deal. The next hostess who actually sat us was rude in that special kind of way that shows that she hates being there. When she took us to the table she just dropped- I mean literally just dropped- the menus on the table and walked away without saying anything. It took quite a long time for the waitress to come and take our order- we actually went to the hostess to ask if we could order but the waitress saw and came to our table, finally. Not that he hostess would have helped, she just pointed that the waitress had finally came to our table. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and it came with unmelted cheese, an undercooked egg (it was all gooey), and on a burger bun which I thought was odd, but that part was fine. My homefries were cold so I didn't even touch them, but my friend said his were good. The waitress only came to drop off our food and check. No drink refills, no napkins, etc. Surprised by the poor service, but maybe the fact my group was younger lead to our poor treatment, as this place seems to cater to the 65+ crowd. Also, my friend asked for a bacon and cheese omelet and it came with a little sliver of unmelted cheese on top of the omelet... so bizarre. For the prices and the service I would highly...

If I could give it no stars I would, this is probably the worst experience I've ever had dining out. My mother and I came here to have a nice dinner out. We were greeted by Emily who seemed nice at first but didn't take our order till about 10 minutes into the dinner. When we gave her our order she proceeded to converse with another waitress and her brother who was at the restaurant dining in as well. Our order wasn't put in until 15 minutes later. She brought out lemons for my water that I had asked for while she took our order right before our food was about done. The silverware I was originally given was dirty and still had food left on it. The napkins she served us as well had a stain of old food on it too. I ordered the Tuscan Panini and was shocked when there was NO SEASONING on it whatsoever. The fries looked undercooked as well, my mother got the Crab Cakes and surprise! They were ununseasoned as well. My mother ordered the mashed potatoes and fried eggplant but received spinach instead. When the waitress fixed the order the eggplant came out undercooked . Disappointed and dissatisfied aren't even the words that can begin to explain the displeasure of having eaten at this establishment....

My waitress was unbelievably rude.. I asked for homefries well done, they came regular so to avoid issues I asked for another order of homefries and asked they be made well done.. not burnt, but not mushy you know? she told me that's the best they will come bc it'll take 20 minutes. So when I agreed to wait the extra 20 minutes she went into the back room complaining loud enough for us to hear her.. then brought out completely burnt homefries.. I just wanted them crunchy instead of mushy. That's my preference. Why the attitude and stomping, throwing plates on the table? Super unnecessary, and super embarrassing! I went to the hostess/ manager of the place because we absolutely loved this place before that- the food was amazing on any other normal visit (we order pickup 2 to 3 times a week. And or go there twice a week because we love the breakfast.) I dont appreciate the way we were treated because I asked for something specific. That isnt the way you treat people because you are in a bad mood. Sucks on so many levels but we will not be returning here again. If one of my employees treated any of my customers that way. I would fire them...
