Let me start with the food. This is not typical bar food, hell this is not typical food for even the most casual restaurant. The food is fantastic and top quality at that. Definitely read over the menu and make your our own conclusions, but you will not be disappointed with the selection. I will definitely be going back to eat.....and have a few drinks. The bar and the eating are not really separated that much so it may be a bit noisy for some people but honestly, your eating at a bar. What do you expect. Drink prices seem reasonable. This is a corner bar so the bar is generally packed. However, that is a good sign if that many people are willing to pack themselves in and be rubbing elbows. We , my wife and I, met some great people while waiting to be seated , friendly and inviting. Plus , I got to see some old alumni from school. Also, the bar is owned by North Catholic Alumni and Juanita native's, both of which are a plus in my book since I'm both, class of 97' and I grew up a few blocks from the school. Side note, there may be a wait to eat inside the bar/restaurant, don't let that detract from the quality...
Read moreWas looking forward to Dagwoods after following them for some time on Instagram. We stopped in on a Wednesday afternoon. We sat at a table in the bar area. Neither the bar area or restaurant were crowded. Most bar area patrons appeared to be regulars and familiar with the bartender. It took the bartender a while to come over and take our order. She seemed to be more interested in talking with the regulars. We ordered a couple beers. After waiting on the bartender again to order another beer (which she got wrong) we decided to move to the bar to facilitate better service - It didn’t really help. We also ordered ordered the She Crab soup and Verne Wings. The soup was very good. The wings were cooked well but the Verne sauce is just not good. It appeared to be just Cayenne pepper and water. One other item not related to food - the bartender and wait staff placed a table in front of the bar door to dissuade people from using it. I assume to keep outside air out of the bar. I think they should rethink that practice since it clearly impedes emergency egress. All in all, really disappointed...
Read moreI’ve been here a few times and really like the food, so far. However, the last few times the “melted American cheese” has been as liquified as milky water and when I mentioned it to the servers each time they caught an attitude and said that they have no way of controlling how the cook makes it. Sometimes it’s melted cheese and sometimes it’s like water. Today we asked for french fries w our platters instead of potato chips and the server said it would be an up charge of $1.50 each, I said that is fine, then we received the fries, it seemed like they split one order between three platters. Once again I mentioned it to the waitress and she caught an attitude. I felt like I had to apologize for asking for the cheese and fries I paid for. Honestly the waitress had a bad disposition since she started to serve us. I always tip 20% and did today too, although it was not earned whatsoever. What would be nice is for management to really get involved and not allow or condone short cuts or waitresses who lack customer service skills. These issues are easy fixes and should...
