Upon waking into the store the cashier was having a conversation with a no paying customer who appeared to be her friend. They continued their conversation as I waited ( only person in line) for about 45s before the young man said “ I’ll hit you later, gone on and handle your business”. Vanessa continued to chat until he walked from the counter. She then looked at me and never utter a word. There was no hello, what can I get you, etc. she literally raised her eyebrow as a signal for me to order. I asked if she would ask to take my order or even greet me and she rudely said “ I said I’d be with you in a second” AirPods in her ear and chip on her shoulder. I reminded her that she in fact said nothing but even so that’s not a greeting. She then said “and now I’m not waiting on you and as she walked away said “ you miserable, sis”. I just wonder why work in customer service if you don’t like it. I was waiting on by another cashier who was pleasant before asking to speak with the manager , Gislane (spell check) who didn’t seem to concerned as she didn’t really seem sure of the cashiers’ name. The manager was pleasant but uninterested in...
Read moreThis place always amazed me. There would be a long, long line all the way to the door or outside and yet you are usually served and out of the door with order in hand quicker than most coffee places that only have a couple of people in line ahead of you. It’s very true to many places in Philly that are used to serving a lot of customers - you had better know what you want to order by the time you reach the front of the line and there is plenty of yelling going on in the food preparation area. The supervisor and team always worked with urgency to get the food and drinks ready to go quickly. I’ve yet to see any level of service with quality and urgency outside of Philadelphia. At first, it might seem a bit odd for non Philadelphians to hear all the loud voices and the bluntness toward both customers and staff but it’s kind of the Philly way and it beats standing around waiting for people to take action. The location or area tends to get a bad reputation but that’s mostly due to incidents that happened many many years ago. TU has plenty of security and patrols that make the area safer than many college areas in the US, especially for...
Read moreStopped by this morning with a coworker this morning. The lady at the counter and the lady making the drinks were very polite. We ordered. Must’ve been a misunderstanding in the breakfast sandwich we ordered. Rang up as a bacon, egg, & cheese. My coworker doesn’t eat pork for religious reasons. The lady making the sandwiches was rather hostile toward my coworker, an Indian gentleman. (Not so much other customers). I took it as she was probably just having a bad day. She handed him his sandwich with some sass and he politely said I didn’t order bacon. And she throws the equivalent of a mini temper tantrum saying that’s what the screen says. My coworker was going to eat it even if it upset his stomach, and I said no you don’t eat pork. It’s okay. A misunderstanding that will get sorted. In the end we got what we ordered. Another customer was very defensive of us after seeing the treatment and I never got to thank her for standing up for us and asking to speak to a manager in our behalf. So thank you to the kind lady who made our morning. Sorry I never got to thank you on...
