Roberto Clemente Playground — Attraction in Philadelphia

I work at a pre school nearby so we come here often to play at the playground and during the summer time play at the sprinklers. The playground is nice and always kept clean. This is why I’m giving them two stars. However, their sprinklers during the summer time is very inconsistent. I believe in having order and schedules; the person that runs this play ground has no schedule for the sprinklers. He turns them on whenever he wants to so the schools are often waiting for him to turn them on. For example, today he was at the park playing basketball with what I’m guessing some local kids; he’s watching us wait for him at the sprinklers but continues to play his game and makes us WAIT until he’s done playing so that he can turn them on. Turning these sprinklers on takes about 2 minutes; he could have paused his game and turned the sprinklers on for us and then went back and continued his game. You can see how unprofessional this is. I just believe that these things deserve a schedule, especially if you know people are coming to the park specifically for...

So, there is a place in West Philadelphia where Will Smith was born and raised; on this playground is where he spent most of his days. The basketball courts are nice, the rims are rimmy and allow a well thrown basketball through. As for kiddy stuff, I must say, there's a beautiful playground with lots of playground stuff for kids to do. The grounds around the play area are super soft rubber, so even if your little one takes a fall, it won't hurt so badly. Looks like the community is really nice too, with very nice people. Drove from West Chester to hangout in Philadelphia with my 6yo and mom. This park came up in the search. Parallel parked on the street and spent 5 hours at this park, sat in the shade, saw other families, walked to the Wallace market to get some snacks, on a nearby resident’s suggestion went to Tela’s market for some amazing coffee. It’s a well maintained clean park. Kids from the nearby neighborhood were also there.
