When I first noticed East Coast Wings and Grill, I was encourage with the positive reviews I had read -- and what looked to be a potentially delicious variety of flavors. I quickly ordered off of an online delivery service that provides their own drivers in hopes that I could get through a slow day at work.
At first, everything seemed to be going swimmingly. Despite ECWG being in the Northeast, I'd have my order within about half an hour. Dragging day aside, I watched as the food was prepared and my driver made her way across the city. Then the invevitable disaster struck. Twenty minutes in my driver's trip toward my location, ECWG called the driver (not me) and informed them that they had given her the wrong order and that she needed to return. The driver proceeded to call me and explained the situation, asking what I'd like to do, given that she was about five minutes away and it would be another twenty minute trip back to the restaurant and then a futher twenty five minute trip back to me. I mentioned I'd call the restaurant to see what was up.
When I called, the server over the phone was very apologetic, saying that they would deliver the correct bag. When I mentioned that by the time the food would then arrive to me, it'd be over an hour old, she asked what I'd like to do. I offered that they could remake it and I wouldn't mind the delay. She said that'd they'd put it on right then so the driver wouldn't have to wait.
(Yes, I know this is getting long.) I was only then greeted from another call from my driver, saying that the manager was refusing to remake my order. It was only after I asked to be put on the phone with the manager that he relented, but refused to speak to me. At this point, my food was already an hour over the estimate and over an hour and a half since I had ordered it.
Fast delivery, right? As of this review, I'm still waiting for my food to arrive. My order, a distant memory. My hopes and dreams? Dashed upon the rocks of a gig economy gone mad.
Update Received order about two hours after request -- and the order was wrong again! I had ordered boneless wings, but was instead...
Read moreMy husband and I came from Jersey for the wings, after he and my boys raved over them from the Philly Pizzafest. Wing size was average, flavors were beyond numerous. Almost too many to choose from. Was disappointed with the mild spiked bourbon. They were spicier than mild and tasted like every other wing places "buffalo" flavor, neither of us got bourbon OR whiskey flavor from the wings, JUST spicy buffalo, it didn't even smell like the bourbon it was supposed to be. The drunken apple however, was out of this world! It was sweet, I could taste and smell the apple AND the various spices, it reminded me of my favorite apple spice candle. I got that as the boneless wing variety. I appreciate that the price does not differ from bone-in to boneless wings as it does everywhere else, but that would also explain why the wings in general are a bit more expensive per amount than on the Jersey side. The boneless wings are my least favorite and I never order them, because let's face it, its popcorn chicken coated in whatever sauce. Generally, everywhere Ive had boneless wings before, they are overcooked and gross little bits of breaded chicken breast and more breading than chicken. The boneless wings at ECW + G were AWESOME and my new go to. My husbnd got the cowboy burger and devoured it, so I guess that was good too. I gave 4 stars mainly because of the price and the disappointment of the spiked bourbon. Other than that, service and food was on point. We Will be back on...
Read moreThis place has become my GO TO place over the past year or two. First time I came, I actually saw some childhood friends working here so I already had felt welcomed. I also had a reoccurring waiter named Chris, guy's awesome & has great suggestions on food and drinks, never have been disappointed. Managers are also great, I have become friends with them & the other employees as well. In terms of food, I love pretty much everything on the menu, all the appetizers, wings and so on. The level of customization in every meal is nice because you can upgrade sizes & have different sauces layered on. Personally, my favorite thing to order is Buffalo Chicken Strips with the spiciest sauce I've come to know, the Insanity Sauce. Gives an amazing kick & is a fun little challenge with friends. As for the drinks, they have just about everything you want. Many people complain about prices, they are here and there with alchohol but they have plenty of specials, just wish thise specials includes whiskey haha. All in all, the place is amazing and has a fun environment with good food and drinks, especially...
