I've lived in the neighborhood all my life. I love baking, breads, pies, cookies, cakes, pastries, you name it.
Gino's breads are glorious. They have a creamy crumb, soft but not whimpy texture, and they won't leave you in a carb coma. The rolls stand up to sandwich fillings that make deli rolls cower in fear and collapse into a quivering mess, but that sturdy crust gives way to teeth easily.
The bread products are airy, as they should be, and Mrs. Gino doesn't charge you for air. The prices at Gino's are great, for instance, it's $1:45 for a focaccia (the best focaccia I've ever had). Sure it doesn't have thirty holes in it- usually just one, but if Mrs. Gino says it's a focaccia, then it's a focaccia.
Mrs. Gino is a nice woman, but she also knows business, and won't hold you up at the counter. She will get you what you ask for and ring you up in a minute. It's great service.
I've never had a poor experience at Gino's, not in 17 years. As a baker, reaching the quality of the products offered at Gino's is a goal. Sure I try, but when a special barbeque is coming up, or when I really want a good loaf, I stop by in the morning, because I know I can't go wrong.
Guys, there's a reason you go early to get Mrs. gino's bread- it flies off the counter. The prices are great, the quality is glorious, if you live around and haven't gone to Gino's, and you're not gluten free, you should go. And if you're visiting and like bread, drop by early in the morning, and pick up a loaf. You won't be sorry. Some of her bread doesn't even...
Read moreI bought your rolls at shoprite awhile ago and the square ones tasted really good. Now all your rolls are lousy. What did you do change the recipe to save money. Why don't you go back to original recipe and charge a little more. I am very disappointed. The long rolls fall apart when you cut them open to make a sandwich. And now the square roll 4 pack shrunk in size you get one larger one and the other 3 are really small. Why don't you try these rolls as a sandwich with lunch meat and then you...
