let me tell you about the night I had at this place. we walk in stand at the bar to try to get service for about 15-20 minutes and we’re coming for a table to order food but they have no hostess and their bar tenders are there servers too. after you put in your order, nobody comes in to give you water or nothing. I had to wait an hour before I got the attention of the manager, and I asked for a water and he proceeded to rudely tell me that the first rule in restaurants is that you don’t bring in another drink from another restaurant, my bad I thought that the first rule is that the customer was right and he did not let me speak to let me let him know that that was a specialty drink from another place that I’m taking home. I’m not drinking at his messy establishment, but he couldn’t care about me as a customer. he neglected to see that I’ve ordered a coffee, a tea and a water from him and I only got the coffee 45 minutes later and the tea an hour and a half later somehow. You don’t bring him a drink from another place so that you order from the place you’re sitting at that’s why that rule is there, but this be belligerent owner with too focused on, insulting me and making sure I have a horrible time. You know where I come from the customer is always right is the first rule of restaurants but apparently here the first rule is to insult the customer and the second rule is to serve them hours later and the third rule is to serve food that is so spicy dry that it gets stuck to your colon for days. I feel insulted and robbed. If you are trying to have as good of a time as I had come here, otherwise try the other 10 incredible Ethiopian restaurants with beautiful loving service that are in that area such as Abyssinia. And I ordered food that ended up taking two hours to prepare to the point that I went to cancel it and they said it was ready before making me wait 30 more minutes to get it. this place is the ideal candidate for kitchen nightmares. The ego of the owner is perfect for reality TV but not for...

I wish I could leave 0 stars but that’s not an option. I have been coming here for years but there has been a big change. For example last night I arrived at the restaurant at 9:45pm the kitchen closes at 11pm. Me and my friend specifically came to eat after work I made that known to the waiter he said it will be just a few minutes before your seated. At 10:20 I almost fainted which was my fault because I worked 14 hours that day and did not eat. My friend managed to help me into the bar to get some mango juice even thought there is no seating indoor I needed to get some sugar in me so I wouldn’t pass out, the bar tender was made aware and the only thing her and the male waiter could say to me was “3.50$” they both kept repeating themselves as I was trying to figure out if I should call the ambulance or not because I couldn’t stay away due to the low blood sugar. Finally the mango juice kicked in and I started to wake up enough to walk back outside. The staff did not have the courtesy to ask if I was okay. I asked how long is the wait they said a few more minutes. I felt a lot better after the mango juice but I knew it would only last a little while before my sugar would go down again. At 10:45pm they set us in the patio gave us food menu to order food and then told us five minutes later the kitchen was closed. I was so hurt because they were not empathetic at all to my condition. I would at least have liked notice during our wait instead of being told that “a few minutes” as he kept telling me. I could’ve went somewhere else in that hour wait. I believe the staff is not courteous at all and showed no sympathy to my situation at all. They only cared about money. I will not be sending anymore customers. The time before this was able to get a table and sit and eat the waiter was the daughter I believe of the owner and she had great service however the food was not as good as it use to be but it was late and I was one of the last customers so...

The most horrible experience tonight. We usually frequent and have a great experience, however, this new waitress is horrible. We had a conversation about our order and she bought out what we didn't order. We asked for rice to fix it instead of making brand new orders, and she charged us for sides of rice. We asked for spicy tibs and were given non spicy. In addition to all of that we were never given silverware to eat with. We had to get her attention for silverware. We ended up NOT eating our food and had to go to the bar to pay as she never intended on checking on our table again. While there we expressed our concerns to her and the lead waiter. Instead of listening to feedback she says "say it to my face." How inappropriate!? Not to mention we WERE. Clearly, communication isn't her strongest skill. We paid for our $70 meal and left never to return. We've supported this local business on many occasions but simply cannot continue to not be...

Came here cause we heard they have a Kenyan chef. Servers had a flat effect and didn't make any effort, the dude behind the bar seemed like he didn't even want to be there. Injera bread was cold, could've at least put it in the microwave for 10 seconds. Ugali was too soggy, greens had no tomatoes and tasted like they were the frozen ones and just microwaved. Beef fry was tasteless. I did like the beef that came with the injera and the samosas were the best item.

I haven't tried the food yet. The service is quick and friendly. They have a pool table upstairs. They have several different spaces. Outside patios. All available for parties and rental for events it seems like. They have an excellent Comedy Open mic on Thursdays that sometimes gets professional comics. The newer talent is also really good. Easy access from public transportation or walking a few blocks from Clark Park. Pretty chill area.

I am glad I went so I can cross it off my list of places to go. Gojjo made Philadelphia magazines 30 cheesesteaks. The first thing I didn't like is the price I paid was at least $2 higher than when I saw online. It wasn't a horrible cheesesteak and it did come with a couple french fries. I guess the seasoning makes it Ethiopian. I guess $7 for a draft isn't bad in the city. It wasn't a horrible overall experience.
