We have been going to the Burger Bar on and off pretty much since they opened. We have enjoyed everything we have ever eaten. The restaurant has a very nice ambiance. We enjoy this place so much more than Gallo's. This said, something is just wrong here. The Burger Bar should be busy but it's not. It is like they don't want the business. You walk in and you feel like you are not wanted there. The staff is not friendly or welcoming. They never have anything going on either. They should have local musicians playing every weekend. Maybe have a comedian show, karaoke, trivia games. They should stay open later. It's a bar for Pete's sake. They close at 9pm. I don't think they advertise either. I have never personally seen an add. We only started going there because we live in the area and happened upon it accidentally. Last night we ate there again. Our server was the friendliest one we have ever had. Yesterday was her first day. The bartender was friendlier than others we have encountered also. By 9pm the place was cleaned up and empty. We hurried up and got out around 9:15 because we thought they were closed and we were keeping the place open. The place makes us feel like we are an afterthought. We are paying customers and even enjoying over tipping when the service is good. I think last night's server was happy with what we gave her. I would really like to see this place do well and I think there is a lot of...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars, I would. This was the hands down WORST dining experience I have had in more years than I can remember. Went here with my wife and son, and sat on the patio. Kid got soup, and we each got a burger and fries. We waited for a very long time to get our burgers, which finally arrived massively overcooked and no fries. The waiter, Kevin, apologized and said fries would be right out. 10 minutes later he comes out, and no fries. He then questions if we ordered fries at all! Offers to get them, admits he didn't tell the kitchen. By this time, it's about an hour acter arrival, and my son's bed time, so at this point we had to leave hungry after consuming what was a step away from being ahoe leather that I had to drown in BBQ sauce just to make it palatable. Meanwhile, we were given no utensils, napkins, or anything beyond beverages. No discount offered, no apology. I will never go into this restuarant again. I am livid with the experience we had here. We almost always tip 20% and up even for mediocre service, but this experience deserved nothing. I walked out and left my wife to deal with it before I lost my temper. I suspect she left something,...
Read moreMy Dad and I stopped in here while in the area for an appointment. I saw the positive reviews and figured it was worth the short drive.
This place is actually located in the back of Gallo's Seafood. The atmosphere is nothing special, but that's not what we came for. We started with the Mozzarella Sticks which were fried golden brown and stuffed with cheese - perfect. They were tasty, and I really enjoyed the sauce that they were served with. It was a regular marinara, but had lots of flavor. We also got the Salt & Pepper Waffle Fries, which were nothing special but they were good enough fries.
For my main, I got the Smokehouse Burger - smoked bacon, crispy onion strings, BBQ sauce and cheddar. The toppings were loaded on - no skimping here, and that's just the way I like it. The BBQ sauce and everything about this burger was flavorful. Cooked perfectly to medium.
We enjoyed our meal here and both left satisfied. Next time I'm in the area, this will definitely be one of the options I consider when I'm...
