Ice Moon — Restaurant in Philadelphia

We have been going here for ice cream for years. It’s good. But yesterday changed the taste in my mouth for this place!…. I called ice Moon at 1:43 PM (after passing the store and seeing a sign that says “now hiring” in the window) the lady answered the phone. I asked her “are you hiring?” she says “yes” I said “what shift?” she said “all shifts”. I said “OK I'm gonna bring my son up there this afternoon.” 35 minutes later my mixed son walks in alone and goes to the counter and ask if they're hiring. The same lady tells him “no” and then a gentleman comes over and says they” already hired someone.” So my son comes back out to the car and tells me and I said "no let me go in. Somethings not right." I walk in the lady looks at smiles and nods her head and I said are you hiring and she said "yes" then my son walks in behind me and the same man comes over and says "no we're not hiring. We're waiting for the guy I hired to come in right now." My impression... Yeah OK but the sign is still in the window. I'm Caucasian and you're hiring when asked but my mixed son asks and you hired someone. It's been 45 minutes since I talked to them on the phone so yeah they're RACIST! We had called and googled online to see if they had vegan ice cream and this was the first place to come up. The place sounded good and had overall good reviews. My daughters and i were looking forward to eating something that we can ALL enjoy and were EXTREMELY disappointed to drive out of our way just to find out that they had NO vegan options. When we googled the place it said that it had VEGAN ice cream. We asked the cashier where the vegan options were and she said there were none. It's disrespectful to eat ice cream in front of someone who was looking forward to one but cannot eat one due to medical reasons. The fact that we called and they said they had vegan ice cream is upsetting. The cashier said that the person who answered was not completely fluent in English. We are not saying that you must know english to please customers we are saying that the person answering the phone could have asked for assistance. If my daughter would have eaten the ice cream she would have gotten sick. Last time i checked they should at least have told us they didnt have the options the minute we asked. This place has been a favorite since the day they opened! Thier ice cream menu is adding new flavors and toppings often, and thier milk teas are so delicious. I am obsessed with thier taro milk tea and thier black sugar milk tea. Both sweet but not too sweet. Just perfect. I also highly enjoy thier ice cream. Anything with bananas and chocolate chips in it is my go to! Hopefully this review gives you that push to give them a try because I just can't say enough good things and the staff are always very polite and fast.
