1/9/25…I took a friend for breakfast. We both had the creamed chipped beef skillet. Delicious! Izzy’s will always be one of my most favorite breakfast places!
6/10/24 Stopped at Izzy’s for a late breakfast and had tried the huevos rancheros. Delicious!
4/27/23…-Stopped at Izzy’s and had tried something new on the menu and it was delicious! Chicken and Waffles with a side of fresh fruit. My son tried the eggs Benedict and as usual, Izzy’s food is consistently good. Thank you, Izzy and staff, your food is delicious!
I just accidentally deleted my previous reviews! So sorry because they were from when Izzy first opened. Izzy’s 33 happens to be one of my favorite breakfast and lunch places! Izzy, the owner is so very friendly and his food is delicious! Joana, has always been a friendly, accommodating server. Your just going to have to take my word for it, the place is clean, there is a beautiful back garden and the food portions are more than generous, served hot and delicious! My personal favorites, the breakfast stack, the creamed chipped beef skillet, the quesa birria tacos, when on special and his breakfast burger is cooked to perfection! Now there also is a large selection of French toasts and breakfast sandwiches that are on his menu that I have been told are also very good. If you have not been to Izzy’s, you are missing out on a wonderful, local restaurant!
11/1/23 My son and I decided on breakfast at Izzy’s. So happy to see they added their skillets back on their menu. It could be a change of season thing; but, I’m so happy they are back. I personally love, the creamed chipped beef skillet. It’s so very good and so filling. As always, Joanna, is so...
Read moreAdorable place that I wish I got to enjoy.
My party seems to like their food - I tried my fiancé's fish tacos. I was underwhelmed, but she seems to love them. Between me being pissy right now and her always trying to cheer me up I think they are actually somewhere in between.
We happened go come on what I think is the worst day you can choose- Sunday brunch. They were unable to give us water until we asked 3 separate times for it because they have not gotten their dishes caught up. It took 25 minutes to finally get water. To make matters worse I had to sit next to a group of drunken hipsters who have still not left and just loudly popped another bottle of champagne in my ear.
I ordered the lox bagel which if you look at the photos on other reviews looks amazing. My food came chronically late , 40 minutes. The avocado had black spots indicating it was oxidizing/going bad. The bagel had been toasted with the Instagram-worthy grill marks, but the bagel was ice cold. There was about a nickel-size dab of cream cheese on each half of the bagel. I did everything I could to not throw a tantrum - so here I am warning you that if you enjoy any peace in your life and want good food don't go to this over-hyped brunch spot. My mistake - I'll be back when they're not overwhelmed by the hoardes of weekend-warriors.
I'm giving them 4 stars just because it seems like they are definitely a good place but I am being victimized by the...
Read moreBeing from the city that made modern brunch a thing, I’ve had my fair share of brunch experiences. I’ve had good light brunch and I’ve had good heavy brunch, but I dare say this may be the best of the b(r)unch. The dishes are inventive enough without straying from true breakfast and deliver beyond all expectations.
The creamed chipped beef and toast was awesome on its own, but add onto it delicious well cooked bacon and an egg and you’ve got something truly incredible.
While that first dish is what blew me away, the French toast was also excellent. In these days, when the word challah is more important than taste, I tend to stay away from French toast, but my partner loves it so we gave it a go. It was really well delivered and almost may have cured my recent disdain for french toast (almost).
The vibe is nice and service was quick once we got menus.
My one complaint is the name mostly because it doesn’t do this place justice…Izzy’s 33 sounds like a pub to me so when I was scouring for brunch spots in South Philly I ignored it as I don’t want pub brunch. This may just be me though but just a thought!
Incredible restaurant. Will be back soon if not just to take photos...
