Addendum: After reviewing the response left by the "owner" of this establishment I completely understand the lack of service provided by the employees. Iron sharpens iron and it appears there's a dull blade ......
I could use the explanation of what is provided to further prove my point, but there's no need (and we did not get chicken)
Yes, food prices are quite high but other restaurants that follow a family style dining plan are doing a much better job! Be blessed 🙌🏿
I will start with Mykhal, he is the sole reason for the service score, if it were not for him I would have given a zero. He was attentive, polite, sincere, and apologetic.
We had a 12:30 reservation, when we arrived the table wasn't ready so we were asked to wait about 15 minutes. It was visibly busy so we sat and chatted (longer than the stated time)
This seems like an understandable scenario; however, when a customer pays a $200 deposit to dine in your restaurant seats should be prepared and waiting!
Mykhal provided us with the brunch menu during our wait, which our group of 12 agreed upon. He advised he'd have the kitchen start working on it to limit an additional wait once we were seated.
Our mimosa tower was filled with ice and cranberry juice, the waitress said "its 2 bottles of champagne in there" - that may have been the case but there was also about 2 pounds of ice.
The food came out family style and was incredibly tasty, but the person to portion ratio isn't correctly measured. 1 bowel of grits, 1 bowl of eggs, 1 plate of turkey bacon, 1 plate of turkey sausage, 1 plate of fish, and 1 plate of waffles. (Keep in mind the group size of 12 adults)
Caution: family style here isn't what you may have experienced at other places!
Fast forward through a lot of poor service situations, the bill comes with a balance that seemed a tad excessive. It was at this point we were informed of the additional $300 charge for the "extra portions" that were requested.
I can only assume some of these kinks are new business issues that will eventually work themselves out, at least I hope so because the food...

I really wanted to like this place. I saw this place highlighted on TV. The food looked really good. We didn't wait long to be seated. The hostess seemed to be in a hurry though. They must be short staffed because we waited 30-40 minutes for someone to take our orders. The only reason we waited was because we enjoyed each other's company and really wanted to try everything out.
When the food did arrive it was just ok. Just warm, not hot, which indicates it was possibly sitting under a warmer. We all had grits, which were really stiff. I'm not a fan of stiff grits but someone may like stiff grits. When grits are not stiff when they are prepared, they will stiffen if they are sitting, again probably sat under a warmer. We all had fish. My friend said the fish was salty but I thought it had a decent amount of salt. I would've liked it hot. Sitting fried food looses it's moisture. There was a bunch buffet. It sounded like it had a nice selection. While variety is great, we all passed on the brunch buffet in hopes that we would get everything fresh instead of getting something that's been sitting, which is what typically happens buffet style places. We were wrong.
The drinks, were tasty actually but not as strong as other establishments. The funny thing is I rarely drink. So when I go out and order a drink, I'm not expecting the equivalent of a Shirley Temple. I ordered a rum punch. Small comparison, I ordered a similar drink at another restaurant and I could tell the bartender actually put liquor in the drink.
PROS: There is a small parking lot for off street parking. The wait staff is very friendly and funny. The drinks are tasty. The food wasn't the worst I've had. Live entertainment was nice.
CONS: The food was warm at best. The place was really warm. It was a hot day, maybe the AC wasn't working. The drinks are not strong. The wait time to put your order in was long. The atmosphere...
Read moreI have to say I was excited to try this restaurant. I went there for dinner and to my surprise, it was closed for an event, which did not detail this on their website. We had to leave and find another restaurant. My second opportunity was yesterday, we had a group of 12 people yesterday on Sunday, June 2, 2024. Our reservations was 12:30, we did not get seated until a little after 1oclock. A few of us inquired why was it taking so long to get seated. We had one server, which was not appropriate for a large group. We had a mimosa tower which was full of ice and cranberry juice less the champagne/processco. There was an object in the ice, we let the server know and she took the tower back, but drained the mix from that tower into the new tower, which was not appreciated at all! We were charged for extra food. The restaurants expectation is to serve 12 ppl from one serving of: fish, grits, turkey bacon, sausage. That is unexcetable! That means we are to be served like children, one piece per person. The owner seems to think we had an issue with the price 35pp. No we did not, the issue is the lack of professionalism we were expecting from the new establishment.
The final bill came out and it was over the price quoted, the GM did his best to rectify the issue.
I do not recommend this place to anyone, and I will not be patron this...
