Title: Disappointing Experience at Jake & Coopers: Lack of Customer Appreciation
Rating: 1/5
I used to be a frequent patron of Jake & Coopers, enjoying their ambiance and menu offerings. However, my recent experience has left me deeply disappointed and questioning the establishment's integrity.
Upon my last visit, I encountered an issue with the bartender regarding their policy on tasting sparkling wines before ordering a glass. Despite my previous experiences with flat beverages, I was abruptly told that I could no longer taste the wine because it was supposedly "cutting into their bottom line." This statement was not only false but also incredibly rude.
It's understandable that businesses need to maintain profitability, but accusing a loyal customer of affecting their bottom line by simply ensuring the quality of their purchase is unacceptable. Moreover, the manner in which this was communicated, through a staff member rather than the owner or manager, was embarrassing and unprofessional.
I have shared my experience with colleagues in the hospitality industry, and they too have expressed disbelief at the owner's attitude. It's disheartening to witness such blatant disregard for customer satisfaction and appreciation.
Despite having spent considerable amounts of money at Jake & Coopers over the years, I can no longer support an establishment that values its bottom line over basic customer respect and satisfaction. I urge potential patrons to consider this before choosing to dine at...
Read moreDear Jake and Coopers,
I am taking time from my evening to write to whomever reads this review about the horrible costumer service I experienced from the manager (who is apparently the owners son) while dining at Jake and Coopers resturaunt. After a nice meal with which we ordered a bottle of wine our check was promptly brought by our waitress Brittney, who was very pleasant and attentive.
While waiting for our payment to be taken, we realized that the cost of our wine was two times the price we had expected to pay for it. I waved over the host- a man in a suit- and explained the misunderstanding. In that the menu explains to add 20 dollars to the listed price. Which unbeknownst to us, was the price in the wine “store.” This was not explained, as we stated to the man. I asked if he was the manager and he said yes he was and brought over a menu to show us again what we had already read. When explaining he rolled his eyes, was unfriendly and did not take into consideration the HUGE misunderstanding which cost us 64$.
Needless to say he offered no condolences or comp to our check and walked over to the waitress obviously blaming her for the misunderstanding.
I will never dine at your resturaunt again because of the lack of professionalism and costumer service demonstrated by this manager (who as stated previously is the owners son…seriously???) I will let my friends know as well.
Thanks for an awful experience.

Read moreOverpriced, mediocre food and drink. WAY overpriced, even the Happy Hour is a rip off. Service is spotty, some staff members are nice but several are rude, including the owners who act like they are doing you a favor letting you dine there. Wine Shop is a joke, you can get the same wine for a third of the price elsewhere. Oh, and the whole "Wine-Tasting" on Thursdays is completely ridiculous, they give you a minuscule amount of wine to try and all they really want to do is sell you overpriced bottles. Rude owners who are not appreciative of the customers. I had a horrible experience when I was there with my co-workers and I will never go back. They use cheap quality ingredients and charge a lot of money for it I used to recommend Jake's and Cooper's to out of town friends, however, not any more. There are many restaurants to choose from in Philadelphia where the owners and managers treat you like they are happy to see you and appreciate your business. "As the saying goes, 'buyer beware' so I suppose...
