I bought some shrimp tacos here and when I got home, there was only 2 tacos. It was suppose to come with 3. I paid 18.84 for it. I tried calling them every day to tell them about it and no one never answered the phone. I live about 30 minutes away from here so I wasn’t going to come back just for that but I continue to call to tell them because I don’t think that was right. I finally got in touch with the general manager. And he continued to look up my card number saying that he doesn’t see my card information on his history. He spent about 10 to 15 minutes looking up the different cards that I had in my wallet and tells me he couldn’t find any of them, so I looked on my bank statements on my online banking and when I found it, I told him I can send him a screenshot or I can come in in person and show him. He tells me he can’t help me because it’s been a few days of the purchase. I explained to him that I made it clear to him of the date when I first called him so why would he tell me this now after wasting 15 minutes looking for my card transaction? I assume he saw that I had a point and he changed the excuse to, “he don’t know if I’m lying about me only getting 2 tacos.” He kept coming up with different excuses. I don’t understand why he took up all that time looking for the transaction if he wasn’t able to help me in the first place. Why would I call you to lie about this? Do you honestly think that I’m going to drive a 30 minute ride for a couple of dollars? It’s not the fact that I want my money back. To be honest, I didn’t want my money back. I wanted respect. I wanted him to tell me to come in so that he can give me my money back or at least partially since I only had a partial portion of the food that I fully paid for. I would’ve told him that’s OK if he did tell me to come in. I wouldn’t of came. It’s about the respect on how I feel you guys got over on me. Like you were being cheap with your food or something and because I look like a young innocent girl, you guys think you can get over on me which you did. And there is nothing I can do about it, but to expose it.This kind of low key hurt me a little. But hey, it’s a lesson learned. Never trust any business with your cash, always calculate everything before leaving. What hurt me is because they knew that they got me, which was the reason why he was finding all these different excuses on why he...
Read moreWhere do I start. i’m a really big food person and also love the aesthetic of the places I go to and boyyyyy this place just literally makes so much sense in so many different ways. I am usually very food snobby and was a little apprehensive walking into this place but little did I think I was going to have a foodg*sm in a little chic taqueria in manyunk. (Sorry for no pics, really distracted by how cool the place was and the how good the food was too)
Pricewise I think that this place is extremely reasonable. The tacos were priced around $11-$15 and STUFFED with meat. Like hella reasonable like crazy reasonable prices.
Anyway before I get too excited about the food…We went on a weekday before 5 o’clock and it was pretty poppin for the afternoon. Overall our meal cost 60 bucks plus tip (guacamole, 2 taco meals and happy beverage.) We had a great happy hour beverage. The margarita was $2.50 off and was absolutely delicious. It was a lychee and strawberry margarita for the Valentine’s Day Barbie moment (we went in February) which was adorable.
Like the asthetic of this place was sooooo unique and the Foood my guys like I could tell once they put the chips and salsa and guacamole down that it was going to be an epic meal. You can, Hardcore Judge a taqueria by how good their guacamole is, and it honestly was outstanding. The chips warm and fresh (maybe) but the salsa was like chipotle action happening and was an epic pair with the guacamole.
We got the Al pastor and chipotle steak tacos…YALLLLLL literally when they put these tacos down I was impresses by the amount of meat in thems like goodness gosh!!!!! The Al pastor were spot on and a solid 10/10, but the Chipotle steak tacos….I don’t know who was cooking that meat in the kitchen but the ones we got were so friggen AHHHHHH LIKE left me speechless and happy and made me feel at home and complete as a human being like I don’t know if I was really hungry or buzzed from that yummy margarita but WOW.
you def need to try this place even if u live 45 min away (which is how far we traveled to try this place out/check manyunk out)
Anyway sorry for my informal broken English incomplete senetence review but thank you for changing my life (maybe that’s extra but honestky is spot on) Te quiero. Te extraño. Voy a...
Read moreI had the worst experience at a restaurant yesterday — and that was Taqueria Amor. I’ve been coming to Taqueria for the last 5 years now and have enjoyed recommending this place for good margs and a cool vibe, but after what happened yesterday I will not be coming back.
I was out celebrating my engagement with my fiancé and his family. 7 of us total. We were at the bar ordering apps, beers, and shots. I think we had been there for 1-2 hours and it was pretty dead inside so it was relatively quiet in comparison to your typical Friday or Saturday. I will say we were “louder” than your inside voice but again - we were at the bar talking over music and having drinks. None of us were drunk, but I’d say a few of us were tipsy.
Someone from the group goes to order a round and the bartender said she would no longer serve us because we made her uncomfortable. We were all shocked and didn’t understand why. We kept asking why they wouldn’t serve us and all they said is that we had to leave because we made them uncomfortable.
I was extremely upset and couldn’t believe how they were treating us. I honestly felt discriminated because we were a Latino group — which is so so ironic that we’re at a Mexican restaurant and feeling extremely discriminated against. They automatically took 20% gratuity and I was persistent on not wanting to give them any tips since they were so rude to us. Between two tabs, we paid around $200-$350 plus 20% gratuity.
I honestly can’t believe that happened to me and my family and friends. It was embarrassing and ruined our day of celebrating my engagement.
Again, I have been coming to this place for 5 years. I have always recommended this place and I even asked the manager back in 2020/2021 to have a tribute to my dear friend who passed away.
I had plans on coming this Wednesday 11/20 for my friends going away celebration but we are going somewhere else. I will be sharing this story with all of my friends and people of my community at manayunk.
Not only has the service drastically declined but the food isnt even that good...
