If you remember a quaint sushi restaurant being around here, that's because it was. Coconut Chicken took over Tokyo Medallion and renovated it into this place. Which, I got to say, it looks gorgeous inside. Although, that's about it, maybe it was the fact the business wasn't ready for the large volume at grand opening, but a lot of people were forced to share tables with other strangers. No one wants to sit together in general, but also meals and orders got mixed up often. Also, no one wanted to get up and get what they needed, for example sauces are off to the side on another island, and inconvenience other people who were also trying to have a meal because a business couldn't host a grand opening properly. If you advertise for a large scale event be prepared to let customers know they have a wait time. There were only about two servers that actually cared about our table, but the people we had to share with were visibly unhappy. They made nice with us because it wasn't our fault since it was our table first. If you leave more than 12 ounces of food, you are going to be charged with a $21.95 fee, but because of how poor the service was on grand opening day, I would have said something if we were charged with that. It's not okay. The food was okay, my stomach started to hurt from something I ate, but it could have just been not cooked fully. Aka you cook everything yourself here, you just choose what you want to cook. I was entirely uncomfortable sitting at the table, not just because we had to share, but the seats weren't even comfy to begin with. I have very long legs and I felt like there was absolutely no leg room for them. The seating and tables should be changed as soon as possible, I recommend. Also, get a hostess/host who understands wait times and reservations. Customers should know you can only be there for 2 hours, but because of how poor the service was today we were there for much longer because it took almost an hour before any food came our way and then our order kept going missing. I'm pretty sure the hot tea isn't free like at most Asian restaurants they come free like water. It's already $25 a person to eat all you can eat for only two hours. I think I was being kind and generous about my three star. It has room for a lot of improvement, and because it's still new it's a possibility. Remember, playing it safe is better because word of mouth gets around. The one thing I will admit I do like about this place, is the design of the logo. It's so cute! The name of the place doesn't sound like they were going for a restaurant, they sound more like they're trying to tell you what's on the menu.

Good broth for hot pot, boiling hot, lot of food, great service. The broth is a bone broth that's seasoned and brewed for 6+ hours, so there's good flavor when you cook the meat, seafood, and vegetables into it. The food is filling but not too heavy, don't need to add a starchy side dish like rice or noodles unless you want to. For the hot pot experience and qualify of food, honestly I can't complain. Takes a bit to heat up but it boils fast in the end, and when prepping hot pot with friends, it'll cost nearly as much and be more cleanup and time gathering ingredients if you don't do it efficiently. There is a decent assortment of dipping sauces. Maybe the only criticism would be to add a few more dipping sauces with less salt, like a different hot oil, but I like sesame and garlic and herbs, so I was pretty satisfied. Fruit for dessert was good as well. A suggestion to the owners would be to show new people the Menu first, because there are a lot of different items to choose from. I think people will be more excited if they see the menu before the checklist for what to choose, and maybe even order things to go afterwards.

Finally another addition to the NE that rivals the best restaurants in Chinatown! The space is still brand new with booths that can easily accommodate 6 to 8 people. We arrive with a party for 4 and we seated quickly. The menu is straight forward $22 for hot pot, $27 for bbq, and $32 for both. All options are "all you can eat", however the best deals are either the hot pot or both because you gain access to a larger selection of protein. Servings are ample and the service is friendly, however it may be a challenge for non Mandarin speakers. I opted for "both" with "mala" (spicy) hotpot. The broth is flavorful. In addition there is a self serve sauce bar available to build your custom sauce. Take a try at it. Parking is free in the adjacent lot and I no longer have to fight the commute to Chinatown. Pro tip: It's BYOB:) If you found this review useful, please hit the "thumbs up" icon below so that I continue post more helpful reviews. Thanks!

I have to say, I came in with some good expectations and I’ve never really wrote a review and I felt like I had too. The waitress was not communicating with me at all. It was my first time there and I tried asking a few questions first and she would not assist me in how to order at the restaurant which showed no prices at all. We were not being assisted at all. The waitress knew the suggested tip was $15 and I told her to bring me the change from $20 so she could get her tip. She comes back with 2 ten dollar bills and just stares at me to give her the 2 $10 dollar bills back. She made sure to stand there to make sure we tipped her (we barely had the bill for two seconds). It was an awkward experience and we couldn’t take the food home and on top of it got charged a 20% surplus charge for not finishing our food at an all you can eat. Even thought we carefully ordered and ate 95% of our food and I just wanted to take the last bites of meat home. DONT LEAVE A CRUMB IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE CHARGED AN EXTRA 20% I’m never going back there again. It was slow, we were the only customers there and we were disregarded...
