Lil Nick's felt like how a deli should probably feel like in Philadelphia. Sports radio going in the back and a little back and forth banter. The gentleman working the register was easy going and it felt pretty laid back inside. Parking and the roads were a bit of a nightmare in this area so I'd walk in or park a mile away in a more parking friendly neighborhood which is what I did. I ordered The Big Nick Cutlet and it was a solid hoagie. The ratio of ingredients was excellent and the bread was so so so so  soft. It was honestly all I could think about initially, like wow this is some amazing bread. The cutlet was seasoned well and cooked perfectly while the extra sharp provolone added a nice bite to it. I would've maybe liked a tad more peppers and for them to be a bit sweeter but other than that, I was pretty darn pleased. It was well worth the visit to stop here.

10/23/24 My husband did a take out order and all sandwiches were really good. We had the hot roast pork, an Italian hoagie and the Dag 2.0 which is a cutlet with cheese , procuitto and hot honey. A small sandwich shop with excellent hoagies and specialty sandwiches, like cutlets, hot roast beef, meatballs, etc. I highly recommend the hot roast beef. The beef was tasty, and tender, really good. The hoagies also very good. Definitely will order again and the owner was very welcoming. 10/31/25…We did a takeout order. A rosewood street Italian and a turkey and cheese. One of the best hoagies I have had in awhile. Everything was so fresh. Highly recommend for an awesome hoagie!

A modest South Philly gem where we sought refuge after long lines elsewhere, which made us feel like we had discovered some secret foodie cheat code to save an hour and a half and also have more special and tasty experience (no shade to the sandwich joints we bypassed). So many goodies at both Lil and Big Nicks, I felt like a kid in a candy shop. Everyone who worked there was incredibly friendly, adding to the charm. But most importantly, the chicken cutlet sandwich (we got the South Philly Cutlet add roasted reds + hot honey) was so good that we ate it in almost complete silence with short interruptions of “omg” and “yum” - can’t wait to come back to try more.

Nestled in the heart of South Philadelphia, Lil Nick's Deli stands as a culinary treasure, celebrated for its delectable offerings and, notably, its extraordinary "DAG Cutlet" sandwich. A visit to this establishment is an experience of indulgence and satisfaction, encapsulating the essence of the local food scene and its fusion of flavors.

The star of the show, the "DAG Cutlet" sandwich, is a masterpiece that exemplifies the artistry of sandwich craftsmanship. Comprising a crispy fried chicken cutlet as its foundation, this sandwich demonstrates an expertly achieved balance of textures and flavors. The initial crunch of the cutlet gives way to the creamy and rich mozzarella, which imparts a comforting melt-in-your-mouth sensation. The addition of prosciutto elevates the sandwich's saltiness and depth, contrasting perfectly with the mild heat of the long hots.

What truly sets the "DAG Cutlet" apart, however, is the masterstroke of balsamic glaze that crowns the sandwich. The tangy and slightly sweet glaze binds all the components together, enhancing each bite with a harmonious blend of taste sensations. This divine combination is not just a sandwich; it's a symphony of flavors that dance across your palate.

Lil Nick's Deli has become a bona fide South Philly staple, embodying the spirit of the neighborhood's love for hearty, flavor-packed sandwiches. With its warm and inviting ambiance, it's more than just a place to grab a bite—it's a culinary sanctuary where locals and visitors alike gather to savor the essence of the city's food culture.

But the enchantment doesn't end with the "DAG Cutlet." Lil Nick's Deli continues to captivate its patrons with another stellar creation: the "Pesto Cutlet" sandwich. This symphony of tastes features a fried chicken cutlet adorned with the velvety richness of vodka sauce and fresh mozzarella. The addition of pancetta introduces a smoky element that tantalizes the taste buds, while the pesto sauce offers a vibrant and aromatic burst of freshness. Each bite is a revelation, a testament to the thoughtful pairing of ingredients and the dedication to culinary excellence.

Lil Nick's Deli has solidified its status as a culinary mecca within the vibrant South Philly community. The "DAG Cutlet" and "Pesto Cutlet" sandwiches stand as shining examples of the establishment's commitment to crafting sandwiches that are not just meals, but memorable experiences. With each visit to Lil Nick's Deli, patrons embark on a journey of flavor, tradition, and innovation—a journey that pays homage to the culinary legacy of South Philadelphia while paving the way for a deliciously...
