The food from here is excellent!!!! There are many options on the menu that aren’t offered at any other food carts. The spice level is customizable (he uses actual chilli/Serrano peppers!). Instead of using just garlic powder or ginger powder, the chef here actually uses minced garlic and ginger as well. It really enhances the taste and flavor of the dish. Whether your craving Indian food or typical halal cart style, I’d recommend coming here because each platter is cooked to order and customized to flavor and spice preferences of the customer.

When I’m craving a vegetarian option, I go for the Rajma masala. Very flavorful! I also get the chicken over rice and I ask for it spicy. Next time I go, I’m trying the lamb. I know it will be different from the other halal cats because of the spices used and the fresh ginger garlic paste.

One I thing I love to see here is the food being cooked. You see the chef adding spices and minced garlic/peppers to your food as he is sautéing it in a frying pan.

We found Nafi Food Express truck in Philly at 34th and Market 8 years ago when my son was craving Indian food after a very long and scary hospitalization at CHOP for RSV. We've loved it ever since! The meat is tender and tasty, the salad is spectacular and the owner is very nice and personable. Most importantly to us, the cart is clean and the owner is proud of his history of cleanliness.
