Pita Chip — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Tl;dr: good food generally but don't order pita chips there and the baklava is just so so.

Very good Mediterranean food. Not quite as many available ingredients as some other Mediterranean places I've tried, but everything that goes into their bowls is very good, fresh, well-seasoned. Good portion sizes. Good service, pretty well designed app/website. Rewards program is pretty generous too.

I had an error on my first online order and the owner/manager responded to my complaint email immediately with an apology and a generous effort to make it right on my next order. This gave me a very good feeling about the place. Would unreservedly recommend.

Update: second order from same UCity store. Again the food overall was very good but again there was an error. I ordered 2x pita chips online. I got there in time to see the person completing my order, and rather than give me pita chips he heated two pitas on the press and packed them. I confirmed that the worker saw my order and he said that he completed it. This was the second time in two orders I ordered pita chips and didn't get them: the first order I got two chocolate chip cookies instead. So I don't know if their workers don't know what pita chips are, if the store was out of pita chips both times and they just made a call to give me something else, or that's just what you get when you order pita chips there. I usually love pita chip, I’ve been coming for many years but this location has some issues.

It is not being operated efficiently. I ordered two bowls and two orders of fries and falafel from one individual who put our order in the fryer and stepped away.

A customer comes in AFTER us and orders French fries from a DIFFERENT worker and the second worker takes the French fries and falafel out of the fryer when they’re done and gives it to the person who came after us as we stand there waiting.

The first worker who put our fries in the fryer sees that our order was given to someone else and communicates that with his coworker who shrugs it off.

I waited nearly 20 minutes for two bowls and two fries. I did get an apology.

Wouldn’t it make more sense if each worker had an individual role? One register, one frying, one making the wraps?

What is going on here? It was so disorganized, I’m not coming back here.

Rice was a bit cold but the fries, falafel, chicken and veggies were delicious as always.

This was my first time eating at a Pita Chip. I must say I was pleasantly delighted. Very clean and upbeat decor, and well lit. The store associates were very friendly and took the time to describe the different items to me. They answered all my questions and prepared a very colorful and declines looking rice bowl. They offer a punch card as well, 10 meals purchased gets you a free one. The meal was extremely flavorful and full of many different flavor combinations. I highly recommend getting both the beef and chicken in your bowl to enhance your eating pleasure. I will return to this store.
