This restaurant came highly recommended by a friend. And we see why
we ordered Orange Rice with Grilled Chicken, and Brown Rice with Stewed Chicken topped with Plantains. We must say that we enjoyed every bit of our platters and the price was perfect for a decent amount of food. Only thing is that there is a language barrier. Not many people speak English so it was a bit difficult to order. We just figured we purchase what we thought may be good. Be sure to read the menu, it helps if you don’t speak Spanish. The place gets pretty crowded and space is tight. My personal favorite was their Brown Rice with Stewed Chicken and those sweet yummy Plantains.

This place is "da bomba" in the 'hood by the EL. Got a "Sandwich Cubano" (Cuban Sandwich), Yucca with pickled onions, and Sweet Plantains. (And a soda.) The Cubano made me scream out loud, it hit the mark -- and it brought me back to Miami as a kid visiting my grandmother's house. The Yucca was solid as a side order. The Sweet Plantains were phenomenal. It was cash only on Sunday when I went but they have an ATM. The place was packed and there were 15 people working behind the counter. This place has that much deserved business. If you want the food and the human experience, come here! And speak Spanish! It's to your benefit!

The FOOD HERE IS CERTIFIED. I love this place and I think I might try everything on the menu one day, prices are as fair as it gets in Philly and the portions are through the roof, quality and quantity. And the women working here are all beautiful and sweet asf, good job for whoever is doing the hiring at this fine establishment, the girls don't understand much english but they are all bunch of sweethearts. You're not gonna get this type of customer service and hospitality in Philly anywhere else, period, I've been living in Philly for 10 years and most restaurants I dread going in to because of horrible customer service and price gouging, not Philly Rico I can actually afford to dine here.

The roast chicken here is seasoned to the effing bone, OMG as I'm munching on it right now with some yellow rice and beans and sweet plantains, it's magically delicious 😋. The roast pork, forget about it, it's magically delicious. This is not a hit or miss restaurant it's a hit every time, no cap. Shout out to whoever the chef is at this fine establishment because I can't eat chicken in most places in Philly because I normally throw it up right away but Philly Rico chicken I could eat that ish all day.

Philly Rico is CERTIFIED. I Aprove...

I had to pick up uniforms for my son at Cramers and as soon as I got out of my car I smelled that chicken. I knew it was good because it was packed, the girl at the front did tell me she didn’t speak English but I didn’t mind I just asked the nice person next to me to translate-so I suggest if anyone else has that problem to do the same, the patrons are friendly and I don’t think they would mind. I will say they should be careful with that because some people can be easily offended and take it as discrimination. But with that being said the food was delicious and even though they were crowded they move fast, the staff must sleep very good at night because they were working very hard. Not to mention the prices are amazing I spent $20 and had enough to share and eat tomorrow. I work from home and don’t live far away so I think I found my new...

Best grilled Pollo a la brasa around with signature side juice to glaze chicken 🐔. Philly food as a whole is not great because of everywhere having boardwalk amusement park food unlike NYC or NJ being top tier but this spot is with it đŸ”„. They deliver to me all the way in East Torresdale near Andalusia. P.S. I tip good so they know. One of the workers use to live in Paterson, NJ and we spoke it was cool. Also their Ensalada de papa is đŸ”„. It's Dominican Food made like Puerto Rican because North Philadelphia is mostly Puerto Rican and similar to Dominican cooks in Bayamon, PR since they live there and adapted. Anyone from NYC or NJ and visiting Philly check it out its affordable good prices. Why pay high prices for stupid boardwalk food like pizza and cheesesteak fries and wings when you...
