PLEASE READ : HONEST REVIEW.. Only rated 5 stars so my bad review wouldn’t be hidden. I went to Rubys on Tuesday as I was in the plaza dropping of laundry and my 3 y/o was thirsty so I went to get something to drink. I politely asked the gentlemen at the counter for a lemonade and he said sarcastically “that’s all?” (As in “you’re not gonna buy anything else but one lemonade??”) he was frustrated and then told me $3.25. On the menu it says $3 and I was paying in cash (I understand theres sales tax but he literally just threw that extra $.25 on it because I didn’t get anything else .. I ordered seafood from them before and a juice and he only charged me $3. PA sales tax is only 6%.. FINALLY I gave him $4 and he huffed and puffed and said “you don’t have quarter?” And I said no.. he rolled his eyes, gave me $.75 in dimes and nickels back because he didn’t want to “lose his quarters” and when I received my lemonade he did not slice open a hole in the top. I asked politely could he poke a hole in the top so that my child wouldn’t spill it on himself (which is a common Philly thing to have a hole in the top of a homemade lemonade) and he literally SAID TO ME while demonstrating lifting up the side of my drink lid “just do it like this lift up top so you can reuse it” it was such a condescending gesture.. I replied “I have no intentions on reusing a plastic juice container” and he snatched it from me and sliced it open then slammed it on the counter and walked away.. “They” treat us very condescending and without respect and this experience will make me NEVER purchase from them again.. I had a large sum of money on me and could’ve bought anything in there.. yet I waited to see how the customer service would be and it was TERRIBLE. Is this truly the type of place you want to support in...

This is a place I have ordered from a few times due to convenience. I have sat in and ordered out. Today I ordered walked in and placed an order as soon as they opened 11:30AM. Cash register was still loading told to use kiosk machine to order. Kiosk machine was out of order.
That wasn’t a problem I wanted to order lobster bisque soup with rice and fried catfish by itself. They would not allow ordering just fish would have to pay price of a platter. Okay fine. I than settled for the hibachi fried rice. I ordered 2 combo orders one with chicken and shrimp and one with sausage added to the combo and one sprite came up to about $ 32-34.
However when I got home the food was very distasteful not worth spending your money on did not taste anything like Hibachi fried rice. They give you a bunch of rice with small pieces of baby shrimp, pre-cooked chicken, sausage on top. The chicken is fake and precooked strips of chicken just terrible everything just taste like old bay. Nothing like your typical hibachi fried rice.
I recommend sticking to the seafood boils, mussels, oyster and things of that nature or even their fried baskets and that’s on a good day.
PROS: free parking, clean space, online ordering, pick up and delivery options, variety of seafood options, kiosk
CONS: food is a hit or miss, do not accommodate, some are fake premade food, customer service depending on cashier, presentation, small amounts of proteins, bland taste or just too...
Read moreAfter driving over 5 miles to get a taste of seafood. We were disappointed. Order Dungeness legs with shrimp Seafood broil, 1/2 shrimp seafood boil, green mussels seafood broil all of which was suppose to come with 1 corn and 2 potatoes. Added a side of boiled eggs and a side of broccoli. Received Order got home only to find that we did not get the mussels boil and the side of broccoli was the of 3 crowns in the bag with the Dungeness and one potato in with the Shrimps. Tried to call all numbers listed online and on the menu only to get a busy signal after 10 trys while driving back. Get there told them of the problem. Was told we will fix. Guy comes back with q small back of 6 mussels and call himself giving us broccoli. What you mean we paid for the broccoli as for the mussels no potatoes and no corn. This is the second visit to this location and most likely the last. Miss the Crack crab on Castor Ave they were the best. I would say check your food before leaving this spot. With price of gas there is no room for error. Thanks...
