If you ever want to show someone a real Philly cheesesteak, take them to a place like Philip's. The Old Fashioned with whiz and fried onions is my jam. The eating area is standing and is covered and heated in the winter. As a heads up, the right window is for ordering cheesesteaks ONLY. If you want fries, drinks, etc, you have to use the left window. [Update Jan 2019]: After not having been here for a while and recently revisiting, I thought I'd add a few more details. - If you're getting Whiz, definitely splurge for extra Whiz. I think it's $1 extra, but it's worth it. - The only criticism I have is that their bread is a bit chewy, for some reason. - They're 24/7, so it's the perfect place to go after a night of drinking or if you're a nightshift worker. - I think Jim's is the best in Philly, but Philips is easily top 5, if not top 3. Picture is Old Fashioned with Sweet Peppers + Fried Onions + Extra Whiz. My suggested order. As far as cheesesteaks go, the messier it looks, the better it tends to be.

These guys treat you with family spirit and kinderness. There generosity is somthing that you only see and get in the Movies or in South Philly🇮🇪..💯 And thats a Coast to Coast Review.... Solute...and Happy Holidays... The Cheese Steak Sandwich is something that can not be replaced or beat... Top Grade Meat was cooked perfectly directly off the grill and onto the bread HOTT. The oils and steam from the beef and the melting hot cheese wizz is steaming from the sandwich creating a a texture and flavor that is one of a kind!!!!!..... THE Florida Pizza.... is out of this WORLD!!!!! A True King 🤴 doesn't call there selfs a King... They let land call it.... Give this place a try and you'll see the true royalty of the citi....

I was highly dissatisfied in regards to the food. There's no reason as to why I should have to put my own condiments on my food. When I order an item, the condiments should be placed on the food upon my request. There were condiments there, but having to add condiments to my food interrupts the gelling process. Also, there were no covers to cover the peppers and hot sauce. What if a fly flew into the peppers or hot sauce, and someone got sick? There could be a potential lawsuit. The burger I ordered was not worth the money. The burger was dry, onions were crunchy, and the mushrooms were canned. I would not come back here again.

So this is my first time ordering from Philip's Steaks. I usually go to TL or John's but figured I'd give this place a shot.

I tried to call my order in like I do Tony Lukes, but was told, "We don't do that.". So that kind of started my first experience at this place on the wrong foot.... Once I arrived I noticed the cash only signs...in this day and age they ought to take debit/credit cards. No wonder they don't take phone orders.

Order Experience: I drove over and ordered my American with onions on the side at the window. Paid $9.50 at that window, then went to order cheese fries and was told, "Oh, you need to order them at the other window.". Meanwhile there was no one behind me. The same kid that took my order at the one window ran down to the other window and took my fires order too. smh. I asked in jest if they were different operations and he explained it is for when they're super busy. Okay...I guess I get that, but they weren't busy. I paid at window #1 for the steak, and window #2 for the fries. I digress.

Presentation: The bagged steak wasn't wrapped very good and rolled off the counter as I was getting hot peppers. Lucky, when it hit the pavement, it didn't totally open up and I was able to salvage it from the ground. (my bad) I did ask for a container to put the hot peppers in and was given two sheets of wax paper to wrap the peppers in for the commute back to the office.

The fries were finally ready. They were on a disposable paper food tray that holds cheese fries, in the bottom of a white bag and covered with a couple more sheets of wax paper. A very messy ordeal and messy to extract once back at my desk, since the wax paper and whiz stuck to everything.

Taste: The fries were meh at best...I like them at Tony Luke's as well as Geno's. They were 1/2" cut fries, out of a frozen bag in a stiff cheese whiz. The deep fry oil didn't seem overly fresh and so my fries were on the darker side. The cheese steak I got was with American square cheese and a side of fried onions. I got a side of F.O. because they repeat on me. This way I could regulate them. The cheese steak was slab style meat like Geno's serves, they didn't bother chopping it up. The bread was kind of over baked and a little dark on the underside, not terrible but I did make a note of that. The sandwich was ok. Greasy AF, similar to Geno's.

I probably won't go back as it was nothing special, I can get a better cheese steak in New Jersey at a local pizzeria than what they...

My family and I are huge fans of this place, food is always the same unlike some where you go once its good go again and wished you hadn't...anyways I always went in person but yesterday I ordered with grubhub and the steaks came smaller than when I go myself almost like a mini still the same great taste and flavor jus size diff....I called to ask why the diff in size but not price jus so I'd know for future ref the young man knew exactly who I was and very polite with me while we spoke he took my name and number and said he will let his manager know and he will give a call back. I thanked him and said please do, most would say and not but within minutes his manager called and spoke with me , I'm sorry that I can't remember their names but I'm sure they know, the man was really nice professional and even asked if all was good other than size , for sure it was I said to him. He also said the next time I come to mention this and it would be on him, very nice of you and so appreciate your kindness and respect for business...many many kudos to you and your...
