Upon walking in to this charming neighborhood bar you will get the local vibe which is always comforting. The crowd is a nice mix of couples and groups of friends grabbing food and drinks. My favorite part was how unique the layout of the bar was, it is multiple levels and the seating is cute plus balcony seating for warmer days, plus the bar is decorated in a very appealing way. The best part is the menu! The food is phenomenal we had the brussel sprouts, the pureed ground vegetable soup, and the cauliflower dish and they packed a great flavor and felt healthy and light. The waitress was very friendly and came around often on a crowded Friday night. They do take reservations which I would recommend , but walking in didn't pose a problem we were seated right away. My only complaint is the menu is on a chalkboard by the bar and on the wall by one of the dinning areas which makes it hard to see when the lighting is dim, we didn't get menus and we were sitting by the downstairs bar. We also had a flight and tried yummy beer and cider at a great price. This place is solid for a night out in Philly on a date or with friends and trying to stay low key.

I loved the atmosphere immediately. Great vibe but we were obviously earlier than the crowd and weren't greeted properly. Just wandered around and found a waitress. There is an upstairs bar too. The food was trying hard to be more upscale but failed in execution for a number of reasons. First every ingredient doesn't necessarily have to be listed on the menu, but tree nuts should not be a surprise. My wife got the beet salad and it had Macadamia nuts in it. Also it was lacking the one thing I want in a Beet salad, beets! My niece got the burger and she liked it, said the cheese was tasty. I don't think the pretzel bun was very pretzel. I just had a small plate because honestly nothing on the menu appealed to me. It was a very thin slice of ham with brie and peaches. It could have been good but the peaches were tasteless and the ham pretty much non existent. I heard the drinks were okay. I don't know. Seemed like a great neighborhood bar to hang with friends but wouldn't make a special trip or anything. I did get an appetizer that was okay. Potato balls fried. A bit pricey for what it is.

I will say that the prices are a little outrageous ($16 for a burger where most places would be $12 or so), but from what I've seen you probably won't regret it. Admittedly I only have the cheese plate and beer but I really wasn't expecting much from the plate and was pretty blown away by how awesome the bread was, clmbined with the odd cheese and garlic stuff. So although I can't say for sure, I'd give them the benefit of the doubt; the service was great, the restaurant itself is great (all 3 or so different areas you can sit, but I recommend the patio). Do yourself a favor.

Years ago I met my boyfriend here so I was feeling nostalgic and grabbed dinner here with a friend and was sadly disappointed. First off, the positives. The ambiance of this place is great — intimate, low-lighting — perfect for a date. Fantastic beer list, too. Our server was polite and attentive. Now for the negatives. I detest how they have their menu only written on chalkboards. I understand that their menu changes frequently so it’s difficult to have printed menus — but if I’m 28 and I find it to be a pain in the butt to get up and down to keep looking at it (was not visible from my seat), how would perhaps an elderly patron feel? Having to get up and down like that? Annoyingggggg! Suggestion, make sure that all tables have a CLEAR view of the menu so patrons don’t have to get up and down to figure out what they want. Secondly, we were SO disappointed with our food. We both got the burger, which we felt was a safe bet. My friend ordered their burger medium-well, I ordered mine medium-rare — we both received medium-well burgers. When this happens at restaurants, this gives me the perception that they are not willing to accommodate customer preferences. Oh you’re at the same table and you both ordered burgers? We’ll slap em’ on at the same time and you get what you get. For a $15 burger, I expect my preferences to be honored. And with that, for a $15 burger, it was pretty bland and tasteless. Grilled onions were delicious, but the most flavorful part. The meat tasted unseasoned or severely under-seasoned, and there was no type of sauce. A flavorful aioli would have really lifted a bland burger. In conclusion, I expected more. Perfect place for JUST a drink, but if you want anything more than that, go...

The place is nice itself. There were a few things I wasn't happy about with my visit. First, unless you like oysters there won't be much for you to eat here. There was nothing on the menu that was very appetising to me but I did order the cheese plate and French fries. The French fries were not even on the menu. They were only mentioned after I asked if they had anything unhealthy on the menu. They were pretty good. The cheese plate came with a few pieces of cheese 3 or 4 I believe with some Apple slices and bread, along with some sauces. The bread was almost crouton like but very good. For the amount of money you pay for this plate I felt like they could have given you a little more food than they did. I mean it's call a cheese plate with 4 small pieces of cheese on it. Second, when we were ready to leave, they brought the bill over and I handed them 100 bill to pay and they told me they do not accept cash. They only accept credit cards. I explained that they had to accept cash. Their either a public or private company and they have to accept it in the US. No where did I see any signs that cash was not accepted. Third, they only sell craft beer which really wasn't that great in my opinion. Overall if you're not someone who holds their pinky up on the air as they drink their beer I would skip this place. It's not for the average blue collar person. I personally won't...

I'm amazed at these reviews. I did not get good vibes from this place. Myself and a few friends stopped in on Saturday night after dinner, trying to catch the last inning of the Phillies game.. we sat down immediately (as avid fans do), watching the game and reading the drink menu from above the bar when this guy who was JUST playing pool comes over and tells us to order our drinks at the bar. I was already preparing to get up to order before he came over. My boyfriend and I went up to the bar and ordered our drinks while being stared down by this man who looked like he was at the January 6th Capitol Attacks (All he needed was a tiki torch) anyways, fast forward hmm idk 5 minutes later? My boyfriend and I sat down with our drinks, but my friends were still lagging a little bit, talking and catching up with each other; when a bartender comes up to our group and gives us menus after this gentleman told us to order at the bar! WEIRD! Then the bartender makes eye contact with the same guy standing a few feet away with his arms crossed and they go to the back to talk or whatever... I know that this was racially motivated and it's sad because they did have a nice selection of beers. If someone at this establishment could reach out to me, that...
