I was in the mood for some pastrami. Since they boasted that they made their own, then I thought to give them a try. The store is located deep in the back of the plaza. Upon entering, you're greeted to an energetic albeit eclectic vibe: there's a grocery store, deli, pastry shop, sandwich shop, and dine in area. I ordered pastrami on rye with mustard. The sandwich is straight to the point...slices of untoasted bread between a nice mound of meat, 2 pickles and a party bag of chips..the meat is sliced thin and has really good mouthful....flavorful and not too salty. A decent sandwich overall to satisfy anyone's craving for pastrami. If you're in the neighborhood, then its a good choice.

Steve Stein talks the talk and the Jewish Cheesesteak walks the walk. I love me some pastrami. The seeded light and airing roll was fantabulous. The pastrami was sliced thin and very edible and tasty. The melted cheese and russian dressing made for a phenomenal finish to this amazing sandwich. $9.99 and it came with french fries. Nice little seating area, bathroom and day-old baked goods rack stocked with Danish and bagels, what more do you need? I had a nice little chat with the man sitting next to me. For the 14 year old in me there was a sign on the door that said ‘we have tongue.’ Very good overall experience.

I regularly Visit Steve Stein's, usually on the weekend and I love the Lox / Chive Cream Cheese they make there. Also they sell a diverse amount of things there. I've also picked up their Home Made Chicken Parm, Eggplant dishes and they were excellent. Steve is a very nice guy as well and more than a few times he reached out to me to say hello and just has a very good interest in the people buying from his place. I think places like this are a gem. I really appreciate a great local business like this. - David Carlin

On July 10 at 4:00 p.m. we checked out at the cash register. We were charged for items we did not receive and items we did not order were charged to us and placed in our bag. At 4:50 p.m., we discovered the errors, called and spoke with the acting manager who identified as himself as "Mark," as the owner "Steve Stein" was not in. Mark said he could not rectify the problem and inexplicably put the cashier on the phone who made the errors. She was chatting on the phone while ringing our order and not even advancing the rung up items past her into the bagging area. She rang up items twice. Once on the phone she basically told us we could be lying and "people tell me this all the time. Bring the entire order back and we'll look at it." I explained I did not have two hours to drive round trip and it would cost me $8 in gas, "Just please make it right so I can continue being a long term customer and all will be well." Moments later she hung the phone up. We called back and spoke with Mark. He informed us (5:20 p.m.) "I got other things to do." We intend to bring this matter up with the deli owner; the city Weights and Measures office, as well as the PA Department of Agriculture, as the deli never deducts tare, as directed by federal, state and city laws; the credit card company; and numerous Internet sources including the Better Business Bureau. Also, the Men's Room was filthy and unacceptable for use. No soap; no paper toilet cover seats; unflushed broken toilets; stench and needed mopping. We wonder if the Board of Health has visited...

I am giving a one star review not based on any food i had there so please dont confuse it with anything edible, i havent had the pleasure in trying anything here yet. It is solely on how i was treated the second i walked in. Granted i just came in maybe 5 or 10 minutes before they were closing and it is christmas day, but the second i came in i could hear most the employees huffing and puffing because they were upset people kept coming in. I asked one of the employees where the bathroom was and they pointed me in the direction, so as i walked to the back a employee rudely stopped me and said "the restaurant is closed and the deli is closed, where are you trying to go?" I told her the bathroom. So i went in the bathroom and had seconds thoughts about even using it because it was so disgusting. When i came back out to grab a loaf of bread and a snack i overheard another employee who was mopping saying out loud "Come the f**k on people go the hell home." . Then when i walked by the cashier to go grab a snack she was tapping her fingers on the register huffing and puffing out loud clearly irritated that i wasnt checking out when she wanted me to. So i finally grab my snack (and mind you i have only been in the store a total of MAYBE 3 or 4 minutes) and take it to the cashier to check out and she looks absolutely miserable and doesn't even greet me, not even a smile. So i take my stuff and go and again not even a "have a nice day, happy holidays, or even a goodbye". Very dissapointed in service like that from...

Today May 21, 2016 my husband and I stopped at this deli and purchased $53 worth of merchandise with corned beef being one of those items. When we arrived home and went to make our corned beef specials he realized the woman who served him gave him roast beef instead of corned beef. He called to make the store aware of the error and the young lady who answered the phone said let me put the owner on the phone. When the owner got on the phone he was very rude and said you got what you asked for because I think I served you. He said no you didn't a woman served me. He said once you leave the store I can't take it back. I'm sorry. My husband said I'm not asking you to take it back, I don't eat roast beef and I asked for corned beef. He said the best I can do is take it and throw it in the trash, I can't sell it to anyone else once it leaves the store, do what you want to do and then hung up on my husband. We got back to the store and the owner Steve treated him so rudely I was not only embarrassed for him but for everyone else in the establishment. I pray everyone got what they asked for because if your order is wrong he will take it out on you. He has lost a...
