Update January 7, 2022: Changing the original review per latest experiences of food quality and customer service.
Details: I've been ordering regularly, almost the exact same items every time. At some point I noticed that the recipe changed: the meat and fish were overcooked, with a dried out texture, and more sauce was used, which undid the clean quality I had raved about 2 months ago.
Trying to cut the business some slack, and also offer feedback, I tried to do the respectful thing and contact them before leaving a review. In my first phone call, the person HUNG UP on me after I stated the reason for my call. I tried calling again, thinking it was an accident, and the business would not pick up the call. I then called from another number, the call was picked up, and I asked for the manager's name. I called 3 times on different days, trying to reach the manager and even left messages, to no avail.
Why a business would treat its loyal customers like that is beyond me. Maybe arrogance and quality loss are an inevitable consequence of success. In any case, I will not be going back.
Original review October 2021: CLEAN FOOD. I am not fond of Mexican food because most places load it with fat and spices. This has neither and yet it's delicious. Fast service, friendly staff... Prices ok (still, please don't raise them! $7 for 2 tacos is barely affordable for many people!). PS the walnut is an amazing...
Read moreCame in today hoping I could buy a breakfast burrito but they don’t serve them during weekdays. So I decided to buy a regular carnitas burrito.
I grew up in Mexican household so my expectations are high.
This was not a good burrito.
First, I found a hair in it. So gross.
Second, the carnitas was not even crispy. It was soggy and full of fat which I dislike! Ugh
Third, when I called and told them I found a hair, no apology nothing. Just “ok I’ll tell manager”.
I wish I could get my money back. I was so hungry and been fasting that I reluctantly ate it. Too far of a trip to go back.
So disguising. I should have taken a pic.
Never...
Read moreAn absolute staple of West Philly cuisine, standing out as one of the best places for a burrito I’ve ever been in or outside of the city. All of the burritos, with or without meat, feature a unique assortment of fix-ins. Guacamole is standard, and the veggie options feature some fresh combos (sweet potato, Brussels sprouts), highlighting that every aspect of their streamlined menu is cared for. Make sure to sample their rotating array of salsas with your...
