Read moreToday, I had an extremely frustrating experience with Supermo Market's parking policy. I parked in their lot to quickly grab some items from another nearby store and then return to Supermo to do my shopping. But before I even had the chance, I was shocked to find my car about to be towed. The parking attendants assumed I had left my car there without planning to shop at Supermo, even though I intended to do so. They informed me that I had to pay a $170 fine in cash for parking "illegally" on private property, which seemed excessive for just stepping away briefly. When I explained my intention to shop there, they demanded I pay the fine first, only allowing me to dispute it afterward. This felt like a very unfair approach, especially considering I had every intention of shopping at their store. After a long and stressful ordeal, involving even contacting the police to get my car released, I was finally able to enter the store. After finally completing my shopping, I spoke with the manager about the situation, hoping they might reconsider the policy. Unfortunately, he was very firm, stating that the rules are strict and will not be changed. In the end, they issued me $26 parking violation ticket, which I can dispute by attaching my receipt on the parking...
Read moreOver the years, the quality of the store has fluctuated, except for one constant: it has always appeared a bit dirty. Often, the belts at the registers were broken so we were told to advance our purchases.
Expect slow service and typically high prices here. If you're looking for some types of food (Latin, Halal) you'll be happy to shop here. You're on your own if you get something from their deli or fish section.
Check the dates on your products to ensure they aren't expired!!
ALWAYS CHECK THAT YOU ARE CHARGED THE CORRECT PRICE AT THE REGISTER! In my experience, they have been wrong a little over HALF the time on at least one item. There is a Phila Shelf Price Scan Policy on each register (you get one free item if it scans higher than the advertised shelf price, with some exceptions, like dairy), but they will weasel their way out of honoring that policy by any means possible (hot dogs are NOT dairy, and neither is OJ! They have mentioned that as an excuse...
Also, the staff need to read the Philly Bev Tax flyers posted all over the store. They do not seem to be aware that 100% juice is excluded...
