Tallow — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I finally got to try Tallow.

I’ve been looking forward to this day. I first heard of Tallow in March and knew I’d have to try their food. The only road block is I live almost two hours away. I don’t make it to Philly often, but since the location is super close to the Philly airport, I knew I’d get there at some point. I even offered to drive my coworker to and from the airport on her vacation just to get to Tallow. (Spoiler- they were closed the day I went). Today my husband and I were on our way to Philly for a concert. As soon as I saw that we’d be passing through the area, I knew we’d have to stop. I ordered the chipotle maple dry-rub naked wings (made with maple sugar and chipotle spice) and my husband ordered the buffalo naked wings. We both got tallow fries and watermelon lemonade! Not only did I feel so safe eating here (I have severe dietary restrictions and I eat very clean foods), but the food was incredible! I wasn’t settling for a gluten free & healthier meal, but I genuinely enjoyed the food. The in-house made ketchup sauce was so yummy and was absolutely perfect with the fries. Evan and his wife were the most kind and hospitable hosts. They are clearly so passionate about providing their community with healthy eating options. They source their tallow from Lancaster and they are committed to being a seed oil free store. Thank you for what you’re doing! I asked the guy if the chicken is worth the hype, he told me if its not perfect, to leave the worst 1 star review I could make. Here we are 5 stars later, the tenders were absolutely amazing. The price scared me a little before I got there but the portion size makes up for it 100%. Full boneless breasts, I got hot honey and chipotle maple. The maple tenders came covered in a dry rub as well as a house made chipotle maple sauce that was so unique and flavorful. I heard a rumor that their water was delivered straight from the glaciers of Iceland, so I had to come check this place out. I met the owner, he was kind and charming, but he would not confirm the validity of the rumor. The water itself was perfectly chilled, crisp, and clean.
