Long post: Worst rental experience EVER. So we went to Vegas me and my wife on a round trip. On the way back we got stuck in PA on a 3 and half hour layover and by then we were tired and wanted to get home. I live in Rochester so it’s only 5 hours away I told my wife let’s get a rental and drive home. She agreed we picked a luxury car off of Priceline which had a pool of companies and said they would pick the company. It happen to be SIXT. I have never heard of Sixt before this past weekend. I’m from Upstate, ny we don’t have one of those. So I said ok we get to the PA airport waiting for shuttle we had an issue from that point the shuttle didn’t come for a while and the other rent a cars shuttles were passing by steadily. We waited about 25 minutes. Finally a shuttle come they take us to a back look like some kind of factory in the cut and boom it’s Sixt rental car location. We get out go in they had a little hard looking female security guard waiting at the door kind of scared me. We go inside and talk to BALD HEAD REESE LOOK LIKE SHAQUILLE ONEAL!!! He the one pushed the reservation on us and here’s what happen. On the reservation screen he pulled up it said pick up from Philadelphia PA and drop off in Philadelphia PA. Me and my wife both said no that’s wrong we live in Rochester. He said oh ok hold on. Looks like closest location is JFK. We said oh no that’s 5 hours away also. He said wait. Looks like we have a location in Buffalo Niagara airport. We said perfect we’re 45 mins away from there we can drop it there. He was havi my issues with his computer(forcing the reservation because there is no Buffalo location open yet) finally he says ok all set a bunch of blah blah we paid extra $75 to upgrade the class to ā€œextraordinary ā€œ never heard that class lol but we did it. Security deposit $400 (other rental places $300 debit $200 credit) and we used credit card. Few more words told us to check the rims and tires and for damage from prior users so we don’t get blamed. We did took videos and pics. We left. We called to extend the next day and here is where it went bad. They couldn’t extend cause we booked thru 3rd party website and Priceline said they couldn’t either so ok we’ll return it. I have 2 cars a Audi coupe and a Malibu my wife has 4 cars 2 Range Rover trucks and a Lincoln and a bmw x1 truck we don’t need to hold anyone’s car. They proceed to tell us that the rental place is in JFK or New York, New York. We say no it’s one in Buffalo Niagara we were told. He says no it doesn’t open until June 1st. After that it was a bunch of arguments and back and forth and people calling my wife phone THEY HAD THE SECURITY GAURD CALL MY WIFES PHONE AND ASK HER ABOUT LOCKING HER CARD? Basically trying to scare her and then called from about 7 different numbers. We never once told them we were keeping it, stealing it, harming it, nothing. Respectfully we said yall have cameras at that location run them back and see what yall employee did we are not liable for this. They told us after 100 arguements finally they would charge us $1000 to come pick the car up. The customer service people we asked 20 times to speak to supervisors and managers they wouldn’t do it the one person transferred us and hung up the phone. One person argued with us back and forth you would have thought it was his personal vehicle we rented. This whole experience was horrible. I would never ever suggest or recommend nobody to them please. GO TO THE BIGGER COMPANIES ENTERPRISE AND SUCH. I’m sure the SIXT brothers are good men but they need to look into compamy cause I’m not the only review saying some negative experience. Also a guy from corporate called my wife Kendra because she left a negative review so here I am. Call me😊 also here is their pics of the car back for the world to see NO DAMAGE😊 Update 3/23/25: They are sending emails to my wife’s phone threatening as if they never received their vehicle when I took plenty of pictures and videos of it being picked up. Posting those pics also

Rented during Thanksgiving Day week. Great service. Awesome prices. New cars. Bus came quickly to airport. In and out at counter. It’s offsite from Philadelphia International. I received an upgrade. Would definitely rent from them again.

I warned you, Sixt, so here we go—After a ridiculous wait for a shuttle to your remote location, I finally get my rental. But on my way to NJ to pick up my brother, the check engine and brake system lights come on. Naturally, I pull over, call customer service, and they tell me to bring it back. So now I’m doubling back with a malfunctioning car when I should already be at my dad’s, visiting my grandmother on hospice. But safety first, right? I’m not about to risk my life driving a car with brake issues. Back at Sixt, I’m told to leave my luggage in the car to make the exchange ā€œquick.ā€ A kind security guard ensures staff knows I’m back, so I won’t have to wait long. Yet, somehow, three or four other parties are helped before me. Customer service and the attendant both had promised I’d get an upgrade or a comparable car for my ā€œinconvenienceā€ by the way. Finally, I’m called up. I mention how much I enjoyed the last car (I really did!) only to be informed—rudely—that the only ā€œequivalentā€ available is a minivan, which I absolutely don’t want to drive in Philly/NJ, where I-95 is essentially a demolition derby. So, I’m essentially downgraded, no apology, no compensation—just ā€œtake it or leave it.ā€ Fine, I take it, because this has all been a waste of my time. The attendant who told me to leave my luggage? Disappears. So after waiting 15 more minutes, someone else asks why I’m standing there like an idiot and then has to find the keys to the car so I can retrieve my things. I eventually get to my father’s and to my grandmother’s side, literally an hour before she passes. I then continue my trip—it’s mostly normal except for multiple tire pressure alerts, which just underscores Sixt’s lack of vehicle maintenance. On my way back to return the car, planning to refuel while the dash said I still had 20+ miles, the vehicle starts stalling out on I-95. In rush hour. I barely make it to the shoulder, dodging honks and gestures when I’m literally just a girl trying to do her best. I make it to the shoulder finally without getting myself or anyone else in an accident. So here I am, experiencing multiple panic attacks, hazard lights on, low cell service, and a car that won’t start. I call Sixt customer service—twice—and after too much time explaining my location, I’m told a tow will be on the way, but I must stay with the car and it could take up to two hours. Standard towing policy, maybe, but why is a rental breaking down in the first place? With no safe place to go, I’m forced to stay in the car—setting off even more anxiety attacks. By the third attack, I’ve already missed my flight and lost money to rebook. Finally, the towing company arrives, but not before adding ā€œjust a little longerā€ aka hours to my wait. Eventually, they tow the car, and I stand on the highway shoulder, waiting for an Uber that can’t find me. I end up paying for a Motel 6 for two nights because my next flight isn’t until the following night, plus yet another Uber to the airport. Then, once I’m home, Sixt emails me, asking me to explain why the vehicle ā€œdoes not start.ā€ Are you serious? Did you not log the call or the towing? I sent a professional response, but I’ve heard nothing back. Sixt owes me significant compensation for this entire ordeal—the financial burden, the unsafe conditions, and the emotional toll. If this isn’t resolved promptly, I will continue to escalate, something I rarely do as I am a very forgiving and understanding person (I have references if needed.) Your move, Sixt.

Things were going great even though I had already prepaid and I was only here one full day ~Wednesday. This booking came to like almost $500 in a Mazda because the first car they tried to put me in had cloth seats who even has cloth seats anymore? I didn’t even know they made them, they were all stained. It was horrible. There was no way I was gonna drive that car so I pay 50 more dollars after already paid in Full 170.00 for Les than 48 hours! . I got the gas package for $50. You could pay $11 if you don’t get the gas package 😳. I highly recommend getting the gas package, but I will never ever rent again @SIXT, after that!

That car was filthy dirty & had Stained CLOTH SEATS! šŸ˜ƒšŸ™ˆšŸ‘€šŸ˜³ had Stained CLOTH SEATS!!

If I wanted to do that I’ll go to Budget or Dollar Rental! The manager was the worst! I complained of him being inconsiderate after I told him I was hungry. I was tired. It was dinner time. I hadn’t eaten all day. .… so at SIXTawful! A rainbow in Enterprise Fort Myers! today I rented a Mazda that looks like a Corvette for $50 a day all taxes & fees included! . It’s beautiful it has leather seats and it looks like a Corvette for 10 days! Opposite of SIXT PHL! ~for one day and a couple of hours on either side of that not even 48 hours. They tried to charge me $500 for the stupid rental I will never rent from them again!

From enterprise I get (I will take some pictures and add them). It’s so beautiful and only $50 a day and there wasn’t all those ridiculous $50 gas package or you’ll pay $11 per gallon and then they take your credit card after you paid in full $170 for one full day they charge you another $400 for all these other things it was $500 at the End! I will be having my credit card company dealing with SIXT! The manager yelling at me IN FRINT OF people WAS ridiculous!

He was trying to put me in a dirty cloth seat that was filthy dirty and stained with coffee, stains, soda stains. It was disgusting and despicable and all that money!!

However, NOW I get a beautiful Mazda😊 that looks like a Corvette FOR $50 a day total even with taxes and fees included !

you’ll see the picture below. I highly recommend Enterprise you’ll get a nicer car!

Sixt had 50 BMW Mercedes/?BMW’s ( go to show ~ you can!t have 1!) and they couldn’t part with one of those for one day for my business trip for Tuesday night and left 6 AM Thursday morning and they try and charge me $500. It’s not over. And then right before I return it this signage comes on the dash, I don’t even know if it was...
