Tano's Deli — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I have lived in the area all of my life and have driven by Tano's hundreds of times but I have never tried them out. I have always wanted to give them a try and recently I decided to.

As a lifelong resident that grew up in the 1980s, this place brings back special memories as these corner deli and variety stores were extremely commonplace back then. Just walking in there transports me back to a better time. All you need there is an Defender or Pac Man machine in there and that would complete the scene!

The gentleman that owns the place has been there for over 30 years and is just a genuinely nice person. He treats you like family and the care and love he puts into his food truly shows.

I am a creature of habit and usually get his hoagies. He definitely does not shortchange and puts plenty of meat in the hoagies regardless of the size you order. His prices are really great too and that is great considering the prices of everything these days. If you are nostalgic about these neighborhood treasures and are looking for a good sandwich, please do not hesitate to stop in and give it a try!

Home of the $1.75 hoagie! That may not be as catchy as the 99 cent hoagie- which is what it was when I first started getting my hoagies there- but that was also 20 years ago. It's still an awesome hoagie, you cannot find a hoagie that good for under 2bux. It's a classic corner store with all the candy under the counter and the staples you'd need. As an added benefit you can get hot roast beef, hot turkey and meatballs all made fresh. Great party platters and the perfect place to order for the holidays. Corner stores this convenient and reasonably priced with this nuch service are hard to find nowadays, I consider myself lucky to have tanos! Tano is an amazing deli. I used to go to the school across the st from there so i used to stop in every day and get me a hoagie or a snack. I moved away from philly but im always thinking of Tano. I used to stop by as a teenager and he still remembered me. Treats every customer like family and is an amazing person inside and out! Best hoagies in the NE. Best atmosphere there. The next time i am home, im going to attempt to make it out there to visit. Btw i am now 25 and first started going there as a kid in like 2nd grade.
