Came here after hearing it has an amazing happy hour and though usually I decide against manayunk for dinner, this place is the only restaurant that’ll bring me back. I won’t share the details of their amazing happy hour because you have to find out yourself but make sure to order dinner items after because you’re missing out if you don’t. We got to indulge with the guidance of our lovely server, Maddie! As per their advice, we ordered the suppli (fried risotto arancini), the Alfredo like sauce underneath was the perfect pairing. The arancini had an amazing crisp and cheese pull! Absolutely yummy and def keep the sauce for dipping. The complimentary bread they gave is even phenomenal, we were raving to the quality olive oil used and how it’s just completely soaked in it and wonderful. The calamari was delicious, including the sauce that came around it, def unique and a bit tangy and refreshing. The bruschetta was wonderful, with burrata and peach and tomato, loved the sweet and savory and creamy which was in a lot of the future dishes too. The salmon tartar topped with whipped ricotta was wonderful! Friend said it needed additionall tanginess but otherwise loved the sweetness of the ricotta to the soft salmon and avocado! Gnocchi with brown butter and sage was perfection, soft and stuffed with cheese gnocchi, they put cheese everywhere here and I couldn’t be happier! Had a lil bitterness (sage) with a softness and light sweetness, worked very well. The peaches and berries salad was so so good! I was raving and savoring every bite of every last dish. Not a big deal but the margherita pizza was definitely my least favorite out of everything, maybe more herbs would help. We had tiramisu cake and a blueberry bread pudding at the end. Also both beautifully crafted and left nothing more to be desired! The drinks were good too and our server was an essential part of our night, we wanted her to sit with us for dinner, such good energy, she knew how to interact with us while providing so much information to us in a fun, easy way. You can tell she was very passionate about the food and has tried it all which is helpful to relaying information. 10/10 will be back, super cute restaurant...
Read moreHad an amazing time once again at Mia Ragazza! We made last second plans on a Thursday night, and were lucky to snag a 3 top reservation. Received a lovely greeting from the host who sat us upstairs. This restaurant is beautiful! Tons of light flooding in their upstairs dining area thru the glass ceiling. The views of the sunset and Main Street manayunk were a great vibe. I was brining a friend from out of town, and he was wowed.
They served us some complimentary focaccia bread (so good!) while we waited for drinks. Their Italian old fashioned’s never disappoint. Our server Hannah was lovely and answered all of our food questions plus gave us some tips on what to try. We got some prosciutto toast as an appetizer. It was a work of art! Very well toasted sourdough with a tangy goat cheese spread, a honey drizzle, prosciutto, crunched pistachios, and some colorful flowers on top. A+!! The sorta spicy wedge Caesar salad was also tasty. Adding wasabi really made the salad stand out compared to all the other Caesar’s I’ve had. It wasn’t very spicy imo… but I can handle a lot of heat.
My friend got the Lobster n Leek Ravioli (Doppio) for his entree. The presentation was once again outstanding. The raviolis were in pairs, one being leeks and the other lobster. My friend so thoroughly enjoyed his meal that he was sad to leave Philly the next day because he can’t get this quality of food where he lives. I was so happy that he was able to get this experience. I also really loved the short rib pappardelle pasta. They make the pasta in house and I’ve always enjoyed this dish.
We decided to drink our dessert. A solid Pinot noir from Willamette Valley and a sparkling rose were our choices. What a way to end a great few days catching up with a good friend. Lovely conversation, a beautiful setting, friendly staff, and incredible food/drink. It’s all here at...
Read moreFood was good. Drinks were good. Server was great. Management was AWFUL. Had a reservation for a table of 3 here. We stayed a while but were consistently ordering drinks after our meal was finished, not just taking up space. $225+ into the bill & this manager w/ these thick ass glasses on walks up to us & tells us that someone else reserved the exact table that we’re sitting at and that we needed to cash out and leave. Apparently, when you make a reservation you’re not allowed to stay more than a certain time (never heard of, not listed anywhere in writing). After asking for proof that this was the policy, thick ass glasses manager proceeds to parade around the restaurant giving all sorts of dirty looks to my party but never came back with proof. When confronted about how he approached us, he was NOT receptive to any of the feedback that was provided.
Not once did thick ass glasses manager offer another table, another area to sit, NOTHING. No solution to the problem THEY caused by overbooking. We were not being obnoxious, loud, or doing anything that would make you want us to leave your establishment. Putting people like this in charge is the reason why small restaurants go out of business. Ownership will probably be clueless as to why people no longer support their business. Thick ass glasses manager definitely needs a lesson on hospitality. This place will probably be out of business in a few years, just like the restaurant that occupied the space prior to them. Especially if they continue to hire poor management, which is really unfortunate for the ownership.
As I said before, the food was good, the drinks were good, and the server we had was great. But this will not be a place that I recommend to anyone in my network.
SN: Yes, we still tipped our server well, it was not her fault the night ended the way that it did. She was nothing...
