Tasteful Sensations Seafood & Soul Food — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Still trying to find a replacement for the closed restaurant "Just To Serve You Too" restaurant, so I gave this place a shot. The staff was very friendly. The food was "ok". The mac and cheese was very good, but seemed to have been cooked awhile ago, so it wasn't like fresh out the oven hot, but still good even being reheated. The chicken wings was less than to be desired. It's weird because they were seasoned well but it seemed not to be floured/battered prior to being fried and cooked just to the threshold of being overcooked. So i'll have to pass on the wings for my next visit and try the seafood. My wait time was about 45 minutes, which is about what I'd normally wait for at most soul food joints. However, I can see wait times stretch to well over an hour if it gets really busy, so don't be surprised as I've read in some of the other comments. Upon first arriving and looking at the menu, the owner could tell it was our first time and quickly began to explain the menu and even give some recommendations. While waiting for our order, he continued to converse with us in a pleasant manner and was very open and friendly. Everything is made to order so the aroma of all the food cooking from scratch was delightful. He even gave us a sample of his broccoli (which was delicious) while we waited.

After returning to our Air BnB we quickly dug into the plentiful servings of food we had ordered. Everything was delicious! The fish was fried to perfection, the Mac N cheese was amazing and I'm a big critic about my Mac. The rice with gravy was really good as well as the vegetables. The Jerk chicken was as advertised, hot as hell, but so addictive. Don't even get me started on the massive piece of cornbread that came with each meal!

I would absolutely recommend this place and can't wait for the opportunity...

The foods arrived in a timely manner. However- I was immensely disappointed with my fried chicken wings. They were too salty, not large, and tasted like the meat was about to expire.[ Please make sure your raw meats are fresh and quality devoid of tasting like it was not fresh.] No hot sauce was added like I requested. I purchased the 6 fried wings chicken wing platter, 10 additional wings, apple cobler, and and lemonade. They are quite pricey, and they forgot my apple cobler. [ I called and they asserted I was not charged for it. However- they should have called me for a replacement dessert.] The mac and cheese was mediocre with not lots of cheeses and skimpy on the amount which was very disappointing.
