I went to a tiffin restaurant with my family yesterday for dinner. The food was too good.
Ambience & Environment: Tiffin Indian Cuisine in Fairmount offers a warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant is clean, tastefully decorated, and creates a cozy yet elegant vibe, perfect for both casual meals and special occasions. Soft lighting and comfortable seating make it a relaxing spot to enjoy authentic Indian cuisine.
Staff Hospitality: The staff are genuinely friendly, attentive, and courteous. From the moment you walk in, they make you feel welcome and ensure that your dining experience is smooth and enjoyable. They are patient in explaining the menu and recommending dishes, which adds a personal touch to the visit.
I ordered pani puri, shaam savera, laal mas, and chicken Tikka masala. Rasmalai, Gajar Ka Halwa
Pani Puri The Pani Puri here is a standout starter. The puris are perfectly crisp, and the pani (spiced water) is tangy with just the right hint of sweetness. Each bite bursts with flavors, making it a fun and flavorful way to kick off the meal. I feel the same as indian street food taste.
Shaam Savera The Curry Shaam Savera is a signature highlight. Rich, aromatic, and perfectly spiced, it captures the essence of traditional Indian curries. The flavors are deep and balanced, making it a must-try for anyone seeking an authentic Indian culinary experience.
Laal Maas For spice enthusiasts, the Laal Maas is a must-try. The mutton is tender and cooked to perfection in a fiery, aromatic Rajasthani curry. The rich, deep flavors are perfectly balanced with spices that excite the palate without overwhelming it.
Chicken Tikka Masala The Chicken Tikka Masala is equally impressive, featuring juicy, marinated chicken pieces in a creamy, mildly spiced tomato gravy. Each bite is full of flavor, making it a comforting yet indulgent main course.
Ras Malai For dessert, the Ras Malai is melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Soft, spongy cheese dumplings are soaked in sweet, creamy, cardamom-flavored milk, offering a light and fragrant finish to the meal.
Gajar Ka Halwa The Gajar Ka Halwa is rich, sweet, and beautifully textured. Made with fresh carrots, milk, sugar, and ghee, it delivers a traditional Indian dessert experience that is deeply satisfying and indulgent.
Overall Experience Tiffin Indian Cuisine combines authentic Indian flavors, welcoming hospitality, and a cozy, elegant dining environment. From flavorful appetizers like Pani Puri to indulgent desserts like Ras Malai and Gajar Ka Halwa, every dish is thoughtfully prepared. The Curry Shaam Savera and Laal Maas are particularly memorable and showcase the best of traditional Indian cooking.

Read moreMy boyfriend and I decided to try this place because they were doing BOGO for a lot of their apps and entrees on Uber Eats. We had the cauliflower bezule, garlic naan, lasooni tikka, butter chicken, and gulab jamun. Unfortunately, this is probably the worst Indian food I have ever had, and I have been to a ton of different places. They got the spice level wrong on the butter chicken (they made it hotter), it wasn’t horrible by any means, but there wasn’t your typical sweetness and richness to it, and to me it just didn’t really taste like your typical butter chicken, mine also was extremely watery. Not sure if it was the rice or the butter chicken, but I found a short hair in mine when I mixed it together, which looked like facial hair, so I was just grossed out after that and stopped eating it. The cauliflower bezule was really gross, I spit it out, I think that is the first Indian dish I didn’t like. To be honest, it didn’t even look appetizing (see pic I took), I have never had it before but none of the pictures looked like that (but maybe I just didn’t like the taste, idk). The garlic naan barely had any garlic, but was otherwise fine. The lasooni tikka was pretty good though. My boyfriend overall thought it was okay, he thought the same about everything but liked the butter chicken more than me. I am sad it didn’t live up to expectations because this place has really good reviews! Maybe...
Read moreI have been ordering from Tiffin for over a year now and it’s become my go to spot for Indian takeaway. However, I ordered from Tiffin tonight and had an awful experience. Turns out I normally order from the West Girard location and today I accidentally ordered from the Fairmount location. The food from the Fairmount location was absolutely awful. The naan cannot even be called that — my friend compared it to the Kid Cuisine pizzas and I agree with her. The curry was watery and chunky (in a bad way). I am soooo disappointed; I don’t understand how two different locations can have such a difference in quality. If you're thinking of trying Tiffin, try the West Girard location.
Edit: Tiffin Fairmount called me after leaving this review. They explained that their naan is made using a different oven than the West Girard location. Their customer service is truly noteworthy and I feel obligated to acknowledge that. While I will be sticking to the West Girard location, I encourage people to try both locations and decide...
