We stopped in here for a quick drink and snack after touring the Eastern State Penitentiary on a Saturday late afternoon/early evening. We were going to go to Jacks a few doors down but they were closed for a private event. We sat at the bar. The bartender greeted us quickly and gave us menus then took our drink orders. He was friendly and attentive despite being pretty busy. I had mule and it was very good. We ordered the Buffalo cauliflower to share and that was good as well. The atmosphere was lively and casual. It is a pretty bit space and they were busy. It was noisy but we could still hear just fine. There was some kind of sports event on the TV and people were getting excited about that. Prices were comparable to other similar places we have been. We parked on the street near the penitentiary and I’m fairly certain we did not pay a meter. This was an overall good experience.

We stumbled across this gem on a Monday night looking for a spot to have dinner and drinks. It seems most places that were in walking distance to us were closed, but we're glad Urban Saloon wasn't. They happened to be having a Bachelorette watch party going on upon our arrival. (Not our thing, but we didn't mind.) Turns out, during commercial breaks they play Bachelorette bingo and give away prizes (don't know what they were; we didn't win.) But r still had fun playing. They also had a baseball game on other TVs for those who wanted to watch the Phillies, but audio feed was Bachelorette. Food was good and service was really great! Shout out to Gabby! If you go to Eastern State Penitentiary, this would be a great easy place to grab a bite to eat after. Our cost per person was based on multiple alcoholic beverages per person. The space cleared out fast after the watch party was over.

I debated giving five stars, given that this is a saloon, not a fancy eatery, but good stuff. Five of us dined there for an early lunch, and the place filled up during the lunch rush. We shared the Urban Street Corn Dip and the Roasted Garlic Humus for appies, and both were generous and tasty. Two of my group ordered wings, and were happy with them. A couple of burgers were consumed. I took a chance on the Shrimp Po-boy, and it was as good or better than some I've had in New Orleans. The service was good, and friendly, and the adult beverages very good; too bad it was too early to drink more. There were large TV monitors mounted on the walls, most tuned to sports channels. Seems like a good spot to watch a match or game. One of our party had been to Urban before, and recommended it. Good choice.

I haven’t been here in a few years and decided to stop by with my nephew this evening and I cannot tell you how happy I am that I did. First off it was packed, there was about five deep at the bar but not many outside tables were taken so my Nephew and I took an outside table. A server came over and greeted us right away and just made us feel right at home, she was just one of those servers who just had that ““ it factor and you can tell that she was no stranger to taking care of her customers. Admittedly I judge service very harshly especially since the pandemic where it seems like service standards seem to have gone out the window, well, I was completely proven wrong tonight at urban saloon. Our server turned what would’ve been an ordinary night into an absolutely extraordinary night, I’m out a few nights a week and I haven’t had this good of service in the past four or five years. My nephew had said that our server had mentioned a boyfriend when she first came up because if she hadn’t I very well may have asked her to marry me……just saying!! Oh and the wings, hot chicken and cheesesteak spring rolls all were hot, arrived quickly and hit the spot but nothing to write home about. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was cooked perfectly and the seasoning was delicious but the Texas toast that it was on should’ve been toasted or grilled because it was just soft white bread which made it kind of mushy and thankfully we got the ranch and pickles on the side because I have a feeling it would’ve been a real soggy ordeal had we not. I will come across the city again to the Urban Saloon for the service (there was another server outside with a few tables as well that checked on us and was extremely friendly and made sure that we were okay, I don’t wanna forget to thank her cause she was fantastic too!). Great restaurant/bar to hit if you’re in the area (or even if...

Yesterday's brunch started out great. We ate outside and had excellent food, and a server who was attentive, but read that we were on a date and was not intrusive.

When we finished our meal we wanted another drink but it was getting chilly, so we paid our bill and moved inside to the bar. That is where it all went downhill. The excellent food, nice server, and courteous staff is the only thing saving the bartender from forcing me into a one star review.

This gentleman was straight up miserable. We were greeted with a grunt, we were barely acknowledged when we spoke to him, and he never even made eye contact with us. And it wasn't even busy!

I asked a simple question and was treated like an idiot. Now, I tended bar for 15 years, so I know how to act at the bar. I don't need a smile or even conversation, I would just like to be treated politely when I'm spending $13 per cocktail and $7 per beer. I did not deserve to be treated this way.

I don't know if this gentleman was having a bad day, or the "miserable bartender" is just his schtick, but it wasn't cute, and I was not amused. I will not be returning because, if management allows one staff member to treat guests this way, I can't risk having another expensive meal ruined by by being treated like an a@$hole. This guy should be...

Urban Saloon is a great place to watch any Philadelphia Sports Team game while having great drinks and food. Or so I thought about the food part...

I have been to Urban Saloon multiple times for games/hanging out with friends and have always enjoyed their food. I went in October of 2025 after not being there for 6 months or so and was very excited for some of their dishes that I haven't had in a while. One of the dishes I enjoyed was the corn dip. Turns out they took the corn dip off the menu since the last time I was there which was very disappointing because I know it was a fan favorite. I also ordered the nachos with chicken added. I remember ordering them from previous visits and they were always fabulous. Tell me why I received the most flavorless nachos, with the chicken not having a sprinkle of seasoning on it. They were nasty and no one in my party touched them. We also ordered loaded tater tots which are not your typical "loaded" tots and don't recommend them. The only thing my party ordered and enjoyed were the cheesesteak eggrolls and alcohol of course.

I don't know if they got a new chef or food supplier but Urban Saloon USED to have such great food and now the food is very...
